i forget why exactly i think this, but i use this card allignment a lot and specific synergy seemed to still keep track even though the 1 mana cost
All those 1 cost spells and cards still count as 1 mana.
You can play a card that draws your lowest cost card and all your cards are 1 cost so it could draw Survival of the Fittest over a Loot Hoarder. They only count as original mana when they are on the board.
The Discover the card from your deck means you can preempt the next part of the quest like picking the 4 or 5 from the first bit, or a 7 or 8 from the 2nd bit etc.
Correct, which is why this works really well in a tempo deck because you could choose the tempo you need next. If you have a 4 cost in hand, you pick the 5 cost, etc.

Celestalon has confirmed that the new Priest quest works based on the discounted costs, not the original cost:
You could also look at something like OMY which always transforms the affected spell into one that matches the current mana cost, not the original one if there is a discount involved.
I canāt really see much reason why you wouldnāt swap northshire cleric for this in reno priest so from that aspect itās the most optimal choice and gets a 5/5. To get the slight benefit it gives over the northshire cleric makes it hard to justify the craft, since it pretty much is just turn 1 do nothing turn 4/7ish discover a card and that is pretty much what northshire cleric does anyway maybe since it is always in your starter hand it is a little more consistent, though itāll be interesting in the 1 in a 1000 games you get to fully complete it.

Did people forget about tick lock? This will never even see the light because most of these longer game plan decks will just be deleted by tick.

i ve been able to win vs those tickatus decks with my priest deckthx to the clowns and this questline will let me pull 2 cards from my deck so with this , taelan and insight warlock will have to deal with several clown waves more often
Seems like you might play the Menagerie package to get the right costs for cards. But do you still play NāZoth?
I think Priest will not complete this on 8 against anything other than the mirror and Control Warrior. How many anti tempo minions can Priest find to put on this deck?
I donāt think you want a spell heavy deck. Otherwise you might have to chuck situational spells and get killed.
I will put this one in my Wild Highlander Priest.
Itās homebrew no otk Spawn Of Shadows stuff. Never liked that.
But on top of my head I actually already run everything required for the questlines completion.
As for Mutanis donāt really mind it. There is no control deck that I truely fear facing over there.
As for standard. More toys. Guess Iāll pre-orderā¦
If the fear is Mutanis there is the option to wait till turn 10. Play your 8cost and then coin+Illucia. There was a minion that gave one somewhere in the comments.

Regardless if it is actually good or not, it seems like a decently fun control deck wincon to try and build around.

A friend on discord said it would fit in spiteful priest pretty well, especially considering the curve nature of the quest and the fact you can pull the final effect straight out of your deck with archivist which seems sick. Will def be giving that a go.

So if both priests in mirror run this quest, the one that will draw prime first will win? That seems bad.
I think itās very unlikely priest would run primordial protector, itās too slow, the kind of deck that tries to force the purified shard will lose to everything thatās considered competitive. Nothing is going to change, the win condition is still going to be the hero card, I imagine the hero card will be your only 8 cost card. Priest is already hanging on by a tight thread in wild, it is only just defensive enough to survive against aggro/midrange for now, if decks finished more consistently a turn earlier priest would lose a great deal of the spread of matchups.
Another turn 27 win con, just what priest needs.
Fun meme card but priest is dying turn 5 already. Or just dies to combos whenever opponent feels like it.
