Not so good on it’s own, but has some real combo potential that I’m sure people will find a way to abuse. You can do something crazy with Malygos or set up your Survival of the Fittest so you aren’t spending 10 mana on a slow effect, but actually putting some threats down at the same time.
This will see play for sure.
Wow, just play Omu on turn 10, Moonfire then play Survival of the Fittest.

Germination is better than Moonfire in that situation.

Omu then Germination - does it consume the first spellburst only, and not the one on the dupe?
Because if so, if you now have 10 mana crystals and an active spellburst trigger, that’s 2x Survival of the Fittest.

This interaction is confirmed by Blizz. Germination on Omu will give you full mana with an active Spellburst on the second one.
Let the OTKs commence.
As obnoxious as OTK Druid can be, I can still take solace in the fact that Spreading Plague is no longer in Standard.

Sure you could do something like Omu + Germinate to get 10 mana and spellburst refresh. Malygos + something to refresh to 10 mana 2nd Germinate on Malygos for 10 Spell damage and some combination of +10 spell damage for lethal but thats a lot of extra hoops to do something that Druid has done without the cute combo.
Nah, he sets up a Malygos combo extremely well.
Play Omu
Make him dormant with Maiev.
When he wakes up, malygos + spell
Enjoy 10 mana to hit face.
Maiev will be too slow.
Germination, on the other hand, isn’t. Omu-Germ give you 10 mana plus an active Spellburst on the second one. So then you Malygos, Moonfire, Starfire Starfire Moonfire. Or swipes.

You can use either. Maiev or Germinate.
Both allow for a second germination to be used on the malygos you play.
Maiev if you ever needed to germinate it twice for some reason <_<
