Big Priest decks absolutely suck against Polymorph decks. Just keep Polymorphing their **** left and right and you’ve defanged them. You’re going to use Eternal Servitude to bring back a Sheep or Boar? I’m so scared!
I know Conjurer’s Calling is hated in Standard because of Giants and whatever, but you can use that as an additional way to screw over Big Priests. Use it to destroy Sheep or Piggies, and now they have to worry about more useless **** in their pool of minions to resurrect.
You wanna see a Big Priest achieve legendary levels of salt and ragequit at you, stuff your deck full of Polymorphs.
Eternal Servitude? What Priest is taking a sheep or pig over, say, Ragnaros? Remember discover is unique minions, making poly effects alone inadequate.
I’ve played against a lot of big priest, so here’s my personal little advice against the deck.
For your best chance to beat them, the most you can do is avoid playing any kind of control decks. You just get completely annihalated by their superior value. If you Intend to climb and are seeing mostly big priest, your best bet is aggro and combo/otk decks.
My personal picks for making Big Priests want to alt/f4: Quest Mage (don’t craft this if you are missing a lot of the cards, will definetly be the next nerf target), Odd Paladin (Safe craft because aggro pally will always be good, but will also be hit with the next round of nerfs almost definetly), Odd Rogue, Even Shaman, Mech Hunter, Mill Rogue, Pirate Warrior, Any Snip Snap deck, Big Priest with mind games tech, Exodia Mage, Carpet Zoo, Aggro Druid, Murloc Shaman, Shudder Shaman (Zentimo Hex is a god send), Mechathun Warlock, Tempo mage and many more I can’t be bothered listing.
Make sure you are running silence and loatheb in every aggro deck I listed if you decide to play 1 of them and hope to get 1 or both.
Don’t get hit with a turn 4 Barnes (out of your control)
Try not to kill whatever comes from Barnes or shadow essence. Silence and leave it so it can’t be resurrected multiple times.
That’s about all I can be bothered to quickly type. I hope it’s helpful.
Tyani’s monthly/quarterly big-priest rant.
When will Wild playerbase learn that Blizzard refuse to nerf Big Priest.
No matter how good someone explains how terrible, horrible, disgustingly unfun a deck like Big Priest is. There is no sign of effort from Blizzard to deal with the Big Priest problem… for almost 2 years now. It’s definitely not a new problem.
They are not deaf, they are rejecting Big Priest problem for specific reasons. All you can do is play aggro, accept your loss or quit with Wild.
Or, we can continue to voice our disgust, and we will. Remaining silent is not the right approach, getting MORE vocal is.
E: fun fact - we havent had a VS wild report in over a month now, they usually come out monthly. Last time that happened was due to lack of data. I would LOVE to see Blizzards data on wild participation, month by month break down, over the last 2 years. I would be VERY surprised if wild player levels arent at their lowest, and while that cant be blamed on BP alone, its definitely a (major) contributing factor.

One that has to, because their stuff has all been Polymorphed. Remember there are also two types of Sheep (apparently). Also remember that Eternal Servitude brings back minions that died - like sheep.
Or play Control that can deal with Big Priest decently (Dragon Priest) or accept the Big Priest loss and target the aggro.
Baku Warrior, Jade Druid, Control Dragon Priest, and Renolock are tier 2 decks because of their ability to wreck the aggro.
You can play Control in Wild… it can just be frustrating at times. The only archetype really hurting in Wild is Midrange as you have two MR decks… kind of… in Even Shaman and Even Warlock which are loose definitions of MR

So winning or losing in hearthstone is binary you say? Is there a reason to play against big priest at al then? or should i just autoconcede to them. Because that’s Litterally what you are saying here
At 15, you are still not seeing most meta decks. BP is the most popular meta deck, and the most popular at 15.
If it’s not BP it’s going to be QM, MS, or JD that’s going to kick your butt while you play meme decks on the ladder.
If you want to meme to Rank 10 you better be as good as Hobs in your builds and thought process, and even then accept that you won’t realize your full ladder potential.
If you are playing against opponents of equal skill, you should expect to lose games that you are unfavored in. This is not complicated.

It isnt stupid - its accurate. Mouth-breather Priest ONLY loses to horrible draws OR Mill Rogue or maybe hyper aggro hand barf. What if you arent interested in playing such decks? Oh… sorry, you just automatically lose then to that disgusting deck. How is that OK? What game are you playing where Big Priest doesnt instantly wreck any “normal” deck? Please share…

No it isn’t or it’d be tier-0. Tempostorm now has it rated as a tier-2 deck because Quest Mage handles it fairly well (as does Exodia actually)
- Exodia Mage
- Quest Mage
- Dragon Control Priest is about 40%
- Even Shaman and Even Warlock are about 50%
- Nine Lives Hunter feels good against Big Priest as well but… not certain if it’s above 40%
That’d be four non-aggro, non-mill decks that do decently (or very well in Mage’s case) against Big Priest. I dislike Big Priest, it is keeping me away, for now, from Shudderwock and Jade Shaman.
Really though is Big Priest more of a problem than Quest Mage? Ehhh… Vargoth’s interaction with the Quest reward is idiotic and honestly might become a bigger issue than Big Priest in a month or two as people begin to migrate over to the deck. I guess in the positive aspect Quest Mage would allow for Midrange decks to exist, I think, but it is perhaps even stronger against Control and Aggro (obviously) than Big Priest is currently.
Played Murloc Shaman from 12 to 8 without losing to Big Priests close to whole day.

Well, I was able to defeat big priest with mage using sheep and sometimes with another priest. Also, a good card may be to fill their side of the board with 1/1 cards and destroy those cards to make it harder.
It has to be different minions though because their best resurrect cards have unique minions as a keyword
Murloc Shaman enjoys Big Priest lunch for certain. =)

This is realy what its coming to. I am so !@#$ tired of cueing into priest. WHY do so many try-hard losers have to play this deck? WHY? Are you proud of yourself? I tell ya what - its a damned good thing this game isnt played live because there’d be some serious violent beatings delivered to anyone playing Big priest.
The funny part i that some of these clowns are stuck at Rank 15 with that deck. Its like…ummmm… dude… the deck CANT lose unless you are entirely brainless. C’mon.

And some very wealthy Big Priest players when they sue your butt and you wind up in jail lol.
They’d come visit you a couple months later, walk up to the phone and go “greetings”.

I love these fake tough guy “I’d beat them up!” comments.
That never happened at a card shop I’ve played at. Worst case you’ll see someone more or less just get frozen out of playing against people if their deck is above the power level of the shop.

Yup. Internet tough guys never fail to give me a chuckle. We had ONE guy get mad back in the day and sweep the other guy’s deck off the table when he lost. He was immediately banned from that and all future events at the shop, no exceptions.
