Because of my general aversion towards meta decks I never played the deck and I still uninstalled Hearthstone. The Time Warp change also killed some fun decks.
Nothing happened to mage they are stronger than before.
You know nothing, John Snow.
I think that the mages are going to return to do their OTK things with the arcane giants and the quest as they did before, only it requires more skill and the alternative of winning with romath/ infinite turns was more comfortable and that made them lazy…
Sincerely…
Just 3 points to make.
- Snake oil nerf is BS and i’m not even discussing It with anyone who thinks otherwise.
Those people either have cognition problems or are outright dishonest and therefore do not even deserve the right to get heard about it.
A bit extreme but there is a limit to the amount of BS a person should accept read and agree with that change cross the line.

Anyone who thinks this patch actually does something for “player agency” should buy a dictionary.

Try again haters. Already on a new list.
in Eu server I played against 10 mages after the patch both sif and elemental mage is doing better than before. Those Eu players are vicious they discover the gap in meta right away.
Do you know why? the mage counter classes nerfed mage now have free reign that is why.
This is the deck that just got nerfed, and you say they are stronger than before when their only viable (barely) deck was put in the ground…
People hate Mage so much they go blind with rage and become devoid of any higher brain function, cut the nonsense and say what you really want to say and dont hide behind bs.
No one is buying it.
Your choice of words is revolting.
“More comfortable” can be understood as “more consistent”, and “lazy” can be interpreted as “more assured in the deck’s ability to win”.
Essentially, you’re suggesting that mage players will now need to struggle with an inferior deck to replicate the greatness of the actually viable version.
That’s q pleasant surprise. Truthfully, we can’t say much, at all really, about where this meta will stabilize at. This patch has just been implemented, and unlike those before it, it’s rather expansive. We will have to wait some days, at the least, to see what rises, what falls, and what suspends in between. We should definitely not jump to conclusions at this point. If we do it’s merely emotionally based, and is not rational.
I apologize, i understand the english but still rely on a translator sometimes…
Paladins have been compared to apes that hit the keyboard and i wanted to get a little of revenge…
I can’t fathom what kind of abomination you’re playing to lose to Sif Mage without Snake Oil. I won’t even comment on the Elemental Mage aspect.
What’s your rank, and deck?
every highlander card now checks for the duplicate requirement only at the start of the game, which is a big nerf for plague dk’s
you think mage is bad for this but we just put up with brann warr for how long? all they do is stall and destroy your deck. FUN! idiot…
Because “lazy” decks are exclusively for other classes.
lmao
Huh. I’ve been playing Sif/Reno mage this evening and have won 4 out of 5 games. It didn’t feel that weak to me.
One more turn is enough to win the game, if you liked having 8 turns in a row then the pleasure was only yours…
Granted I’m at a lower level than most of you(Platinum), but I play two mage decks in wild with slightly above 50% win rate. I realize homebrew decks aren’t viable at the highest levels, which for me is just a reason why I’d never want to play at those levels. Sounds like it’s just broken decks up there from how you guys talk. No wonder so many of you talk about not wanting to play anymore. Half of you are mad that you can’t play against a non-toxic opponent, and the other half of you ARE that toxic opponent and angry that your broken deck got fixed.
I’m neither. I never played the deck, and could not possibly care less that it’s nerfed.
But I think it is very telling that team 5 took the only truly legend viable mage deck from Wild and gave mage players nothing to replace it, particularly when Priest is running the same thing, and everyone seems fine with that, lol.
The fact is that players here and elsewhere, almost to a man, hate the mage class, and are turning a blind eye when their favorite classes use the same playstyles and strategies that mage used, and they screamed about.
It’s the same on every media platform too.
Shaman can have spell damage, and so can Druid. But not Mage.
Hunter Rogue and Pally can have Secrets, but not Mage.
Same with burn, same with tempo, and on and on.
Right now; Mage has a really fun, but pretty weak, elemental curve deck.
If it ever becomes competitive, kiss it goodbye.
An extra turn is enough stop the doom-posting and play a real deck that doesn’t rely on cheating. The quest is now just another garbage otk combo enabler with Tae’thelan and Antonidas spamming fireballs 20 times in a row. If you don’t like that kind of thing too bad, you’re in the vocal minority about this and I’m glad the devs gaming philosophy is going beyond this awful interaction.
Yeah, I find Mage generally a lot less toxic than Priest, the mother of all toxic classes. Mages rarely piss me off. Time Warp was the only one. Well, not a fan of Sif, because that goes to my other pet peeve, the one card win condition. If you destroy Sif in the other player’s hand, he just quits.
