I’ve had good success getting upgraded champion wildcards and you’re guaranteed a champion wildcard every week. So over the course of a month you can easily build a 6 champ deck f2p and that doesn’t even take into account the random champs you get from progression.
The more you play, the higher the rewards. There are weekly chests that increase as you play more games (even losses count) you are also give a n expedition token and, after a few wins, a free champion card. If you increase that enough, it can become a champion wild card, which can be used to make any champion. Each region also has a reward section that allows you to earn random cards and shards (dust), which you can use to craft cards as well. You can only have 3 of any one card, if you get a 4th, it is automatically changed to shards. I started right when it went to mobile and was given 4 full decks, the fourth was given after playing 2 weeks, with multiple copies of some champions.
Although others are pleased with the announcement, I am wondering if the aggressive release schedule will make it more difficult for F2P players to keep up. Time will tell.
Woke up this morning, made an account and started the download.
Fine.
I am going to download it. But I hate roping and I am really concerned about roping (however it’s called there) in LoR.
I mean, you aren’t under duress lol. Maybe it works for you maybe not. I find it enjoyable and I hope you do as well.
This is what I feel aswell.
Commons and rares are super duper easy to get, epics are a little bit challenging but still not that hard to come by, but getting the specific champions you want and the amount you want does become hard at times.
Nonetheless it’s still leagues easier then getting the legendaries you want in hs without money, and so much easier and cheaper then hs again with money.
Well, technically it’s always beneficial for one person or group I guess. But I wouldn’t say that it’s “good” for that reason alone. War is the extreme form of competition (therefore also my comparison with killing someone) and most people wouldn’t agree that “war is always good”. It might be for some in some instances but you shouldn’t say it in such a generic way.
“You shouldn’t trust persons anyways.” FTFY
Fair enough. But that doesn’t mean you should praise a core aspect of it. On the contrary even. How can things ever change if you constantly tell people that the main drive of Capitalism is “always good”. Actually I think you contradicted yourself there even. If you’re actually “not too fond of unfettered Capitalism” yourself then you basically admit that indeed “competition is NOT always good”. Good that you agree with me on this even though you didn’t say it outright.
dammit, I’m found out. Yeah, you’re right.
There is no basic set, instead regions are predetermined and you can start getting cards for whatever region yu want. Each region has 5 Champsions, 24 commons, 24 rares, 9 epics. Anything except champs are easy to get.
Then getting whatever deck you want a much, much quicker experience. I don’t care about having a full collection in HS, and I probably should’ve commented on decks more. Being there are less cards that are easier to get however, you can make decks much easier.
Why is it so complicated to figure out how many cards are there? And in which sets they’re from?
Don’t they do Expansions like HS and MTG?
No, it’s consistent per set with the amount of cards mentioned. It’s really no more complicated than HS. There are 7 (as of now) regions, each with the number of cards I said, and decks are made from any two (or one, if you want) of two regions.
Expansions add a new region, such as Bilgewater.
Hey man,
I used to play LoR for around 2 months and i have fully max collection ( free to play )
The thing about LoR is , its missing the core mechanics that makes a card game fun ( atleast for me )
I like the HS mechanics better. This is why i cameback to HS
Dont get me wrong i still play LoR from time to time to get that weekly vault and keep my collection at 100% but HS is much better for me because its more active mechanicly.
all the times I told you this and you fought back…
Hearthstone won’t die, but we do have an option to play something better
Tbh I had a look at LoR and wasn’t excited by the game , so I gave it a miss, but I do agree competition is good and Hs has got a lot more expensive over time.
Part of this added expense is in fact due to improvements in the gameplay , every class uses different cards now, you don’t just need to craft Sylvanas,Rag and Dr Boom to have all the useful legendaries and there aren’t a core of very strong neutral cards (3/2 Knife Juggler,2/1 Leper Gnome and Abusive sgt. etc.) that you can slot into almost any deck. I like the variety now, but it does mean you need lots of Epics and Legendaries from every class if you want to play different classes.
However you are right, Blizzard need to start being a lot more generous.
I’m actually just waiting to get into the Beta For Artifact 2, I loved some aspects of the original, but can also see why it failed (gameplay was just too harsh and unforgiving, every game was like playing U control vs U control!) , but the new version looks much more approachable , and this time they are going for cosmetics only for monetisation (I think), so you get ALL the cards free just by playing and cards will not be purchaseable.
Will be interesting to see how it does after the collapse of the original, but should be good for Hs players as it’s another huge firm competing with Blizzard, hopefully it will stick around and keep the pressure on Team 5 to keep the cost down.
I ve made a similar post in the past (4 months ago) about LoR vs Hearthstone.
Since i ve been playing LoR since Day 2 open Beta heres my experience out of it:
- At the end of the Beta i was capable of collecting almost every single card of the set without paying a $.
- I had the chance to create a new deck (the one i like the most) every 2 weeks when i first started and almost every week after my collection grew bigger (1 month later).
- Now it actually officially released !!! And what i can i say? Although i play a bit less (i work in a hospital these days and Covid has pushed us into some crazy work) i can still say that by the end of the expansion set im gonna have all the cards.
- For those wondering how free it is… you can get at least 2 guaranteed champions of your choise at any given week from the weekly vault rewards and the shards you collect.
- You can get a lot more champions and cards from the in-game region rewards. And by A LOT I MEAN A LOT !!!
Now Hs did some good things with its economy and the duplicate protection. A few years back this would seem amazing !!! But when you put these 2 games side by side ITS AMAZING HOW MUCH MORE CHEAPER LoR is. I mean i ve been playing Hs six years str8 and i always needed about a month or sometimes 2 just to be able to build a f*ing competitive deck. AND IM PLAYING WILD WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE A LOT CHEAPER.
And with that said im just touching economy stuff here dont even get me started how much better LoR is in turn of balance, deck differentiation and deck building, flavour and stuff…
I downloaded it and a big problem ensued.
I don’t know how to change the language!
No lo veo en las opciones! Qué se supone que haga?
My life is too complicated. 3 languages spoken in my home, but nobody speaks all 3!
in which region are you logging in LoL client?
NA or APAC maybe? I don’t know.
I logged in through the Game Center in IOS.
Tried it.
MY opponent topdecked a card which i couldn´t defend with any of my cards. (cuz of the effect)
i deinstalled it.
HS is better. Facts.
explain to me how that situation CAN’T happen in Hearthstone, lol
Apparently this guy has never heard of Demon hunter, cuz thats literally one of tgheir legendaries.
Also Cyclick. Sorry but having tried Legends of Runeterra I can say it… is not without its own problems. In less than 24 hours of playing it I hit nothing but removal/burn decks with Karma (talked about in earlier post) and the single most OP card in LoR, Unyielding spirit. This card makes any unit card you own unkillable and undamageable. And can be cast as early as turn 5… There are only 3 total cards that i know of in all of LoR that can remove it and one of those can only be played in the same deck region as unyielding spirit.
TLDR: yes its fun, but it made me want to quit playing in less than 2 days. Nor even HS has topped that lol.
