Forum clowns (with a ‘Tamsin Roame’ avatar, for example) would quickly ‘explain’ to you that “you’re not as good as you think”, tell you to ‘git gud’ and that the problem is you. 
Clearly, a ‘skill issue’ on your part.
Yeah, yeah, that’s how it goes — except that they do more than that, it’s at least double the cheating, it would seem.
By the way, the game is totally fair and has no issues. Sarcasm, of course.

Even I did it back in the day, had quite a few decent runs with, say, 7-10 wins and so on, and 5-6 would be an ‘ugh’ — not going ‘infinite’ again. Nowadays I’d probably consider 3-3 or 4-3 lucky enough.

Yes, especially with a thoroughly selected barcode account. Much less likely for a ‘normie’ guy, an ordinary ‘you’, spending some tavern tickets on an occasional run. 
Oh, it was a thing back then. In the modern era, however, it’s been ridiculous, as much as I loathe this overused term on these forums.
