[Jul 2] Stuck on Tavern Doors or Playful Sprites on iOS/Android

As I was reading this thread, I noticed that after the 14.6.32097 patch the issue seems to affect only Android devices version 6.0.1 or earlier.

I would like to hear if the problem still persists with iOs or post-Marshmallow Android devices.

Yes, follow steps again but this time, do not do anything until asset download is complete. Don’t log in or do anything. Keep app open but don’t do anything until it’s done.

Also, the Android version bit is not accurate. I have newest Android version and still effects me. And yes, this bug is effecting IOS and tablets as well.

DO NOT buy a new phone just for Hs, as this bug is affecting new phones as well. Of course if you were going to buy one already go ahead, but HS may still not run on your device anyway, Android or IOS. Even PC right now is unstable, yet still largely more stable then mobile client.

Blizzard… Blizzard Blizzard Blizzard

PC is fine and stable. Only mobile is out of commission atm.

I don’t know about a Nobel Peace prize, but some kind of badge for UrMum69Gotem is ok (lol what kind of handle is that); his post definitely looks like it stumbled on the issue for older Androids: seems to be a notification issue. I disabled every single App’s notification (although just the Amazon App store and Hearthstone app should be enough, one would think). I was finally able to get old 5.1.1 Android on Nexus 10 to load HS (latest patch as of this post). Of course, thanks to Blizzard, I lost out on 10% coin back offer.

Same problem here, Huawei honor 7. I tried turning off/on the app and phone. Also tried re-installing the game few times, still doesn’t work. Obiviously there is a problem with the new update. Please fix this soon as possible. Its been a week already.

Same problem, Xiaomi Redmi 4, I tried reinstalling and clearing cache several times but still doesn’t work. I will try disabling notifications trick but I am already so annoyed of this…

Please when we will have a fix for Android 6 users ? Almost a week without ability to play on mobile… What happens with your Dev and Q&A teams ? You don’t have the habits to do nothing and stay your customers in the dark !

a week without a game, well done! Probably QA testers just checked iphones for compatibility

I think than the issue is more complex and regards Android Marshmallow. I know players that use Android Nougat and it works fine.

Well just when I think the latest patch and turning off notifications did the trick: the HS app in Amazon store is broke again. Blizzard needs to tell us if older Android is no longer supported?

I tried once again UrMum69Gotem’s instructions.

  1. Removed last install, cleared pretty much everything temp/cache from my phone and then restarted.
  2. Installed HS. (version 14.6.32097)
  3. Removed notifications from HS, cleared pretty much everything temp/cache from my phone and restarted once again (just in case).
  4. Opened HS and waited.
  5. Logged in after the assets were loaded…

And so far it seems to work. (Android 6.0)

Jeezsh… what a week.

And now, Blizz, in the light of these recent events, have guess. Am I going to spend my 80€ on Saviors of Uldum Mega Bundle, or not?

HS updated automatically today at 8:23 CEST.
Did if fix the problem? Try to guess…
I can still admire beautiful graphic of tavern door. It would look even better if HS logo didn’t stop to glow after 3 seconds.

Lenovo K6 Note, Android 6.0.1

Well folks, the Notifications being disabled may or may not work (I’ve disabled all app notifications, just in case).

However, I have found something very interesting that always works (but is annoying and tricky to pull off).

Here are the steps (after you load Hearthstone app in android 5.1):

  1. Blizzard logo appears
  2. Closed Tavern doors appear
  3. As soon as doors appear, swipe up and click on the right virtual button in android (this triggers your recent apps in android).
  4. Wait a few seconds (about 5) and let HS load in background
  5. Click on Hearthstone app in background
  6. Quickly swipe up and click on right virtual button again
  7. repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 until the HS logo glows and rest of app loads w/o crashing

So the trick is to let the app load while you are in recent apps mode. And quickly check by clicking on hearthstone app in background.

Insanity.

I will try your method and post results, as my method appears to only work once and then require the steps to be done over again.

Your method does not seem to work for me. Tried several times with no success

Yea, that’s what happened to me with your method. It worked the 1st time and then after I repeated the steps, it doesn’t always work either. I’m sorry my method didn’t work for you. It is definitely a flaky trick. I have to try about 10 times and one of them works.
