[iPhone] Patch 18.4 Killing Battery and Overheating phone

My iPhone is running extremely hot since this patch. Playing is killing the battery, 3 games used 20% on a iPhone XR.

Tried again today. 25 minutes play time went from 100% to 85% battery

Healthy battery. 95% of optimal capacity. Reddit responses to post are showing similar problems with multiple phone/iPad models

I’m having the same issue. iPhone XS. Never had a problem with battery usage or temperature before but after latest patch battery drains super fast and phone gets hot.

I have had this issue for months on my old iphone6. Now though, I cannot even select a deck in play mode or select my hero in arena without the game completely crashing. :frowning:

Same here. iPhone 11 Pro. After latest patch when running hearthstone phone turns in to hand heater. Might be feature for incoming winter

Same thing is happening to me and i’m also using an iPhone 11 Pro. I’m not touching this game until the problem is fixed. If my phone overheats and breaks, this is on Blizzard.

Same here. iPhone 11 and the phone is burning up. It seams that this happens for iOS 14 users. iOS 13 users dosent have the problem

This is also happening to me. Before patch, 30 minutes of usage would use about 5-10% of battery, now it is 25%+. Phone didn’t get hot at all before, now it starts getting hot after only a minute or two of use and quite hot after 30 minutes.

I posted this originally on Reddit and linked this thread. It’s possible that many, like me, do not use this forum often, if at all, and are trying to make this known. I felt that trying to alert Blizzard was the thing to do for this issue.

Two month old IPhone 11 Pro and I’m having the same heating issues. Also experiencing disconnects several times per game in battlegrounds and arena.

If you have overheating, see if you can reduce the graphics settings. I run low settings on my laptop to avoid overheating.

Having same issues. iPhone 8 Plus, even though it’s an older model was totally fine running game before latest patch. Now noticeably hot. Glad to see it is a universal iPhone issue and not just my phone though!

I’m having the issue as well - iPhone 11 Pro Max with battery life at 100% capacity. After a couple of games my phone gets hot, the battery drains, and my screen automatically dims.

Since Patch 18.4, no matter what I do, play, tavern brawl, arena or even Shop or browse collection, Hearthstone will crash in a few seconds.
