It feels like crap. Oh look, my opponent used discover 20 times over the course of the game until they got what they needed to win. Big deal
And when luck works in my favor and I win because of it, it doesn’t really feel good either because I have enough self-awareness to know that I didn’t win because I outplayed my opponent. I just got lucky. Big deal. I don’t get excited about winning coin tosses either
What about people that actually enjoy generating a lot of cards ? That’s one boundary virtual card games don’t have that’s a good thing they can build toward it
You not appreciating that part of the game doesn’t have anything to do with the understanding of the devs
If you play a card game you already play with the randomness of the draw
You argument could be used just the same by someone complaining about their draw
A physical card game is bound to the actual cards you have at your disposal, which and how many
A virtual card game is free of that and I really love the possibility to summon any card of the game that was not originally planned in the current game
Thanks for making my point for me. Randomness is already a factor in CCGs. You don’t need to add more and more and more like it’s the Taco Town skit from SNL
Sometimes, less is more
Everyone already knows how you’re going to respond to any post criticizing your team, shill. Nearly 13,000 posts and a hidden profile. Your feedback means nothing to me. You’re probably one of the devs or CMs hiding behind a sock puppet
I love how they were so quick to the “muh disappointment twist isn’t open” but ignore the very real amount of posts and negative feedback people have taken with the insane spike in both RNG/casinofest and botting.
Then play real card games if you don’t want more RNG than just draw Even the virtual version of real card games, where you ONLY play what you draw
Hearthstone is using its card generation potential because that’s the design they want for their game and the playerbase tend to like
If you want to only play what you draw in Hearthstone then you want to play hearthstone classic, which was proven to be an obsolete game style nowadays
I’m fine with a little bit of RNG added in. A curveball now and then keeps you on your toes and keeps things interesting. I’m talking about every single damn turn, one player or the other and sometimes both get to discover something. It’s making for some really long drawn out games that conclude only when one person gets a little luckier than the other
Board control and resource management should be more important than luck in a CCG
