I hate my life playing vs control decks

why can control decks hold me hostage in a 40 minutes game? its super frustrating playing a 40 minute game that is only worth one win, when you lose is even more frustrating. especially because the gameplay is: make a board, get cleared, repeat for infinity. they have infinite clears !!!

they are not holding you hostage

you are doing it to yourself

they added a concede button for a reason

Kind of sad how much Hollywood has warped peoples perception, if we go by the numbers France is one of the most successful military powers in history.

And they eat Frogsā€¦I have nothing but respect for a nation that puts those pests where they belong.

Imagine your idea of being fun playing as little of a game as possible. Couldnā€™t be me.

Real control players donā€™t ever want the opponent to give up. They derive pleasure from grinding their opponents into the dirt over a longer period of time. Itā€™s why old MTG control deck were referred to as ā€œPermission Decksā€. You need to ask us to have fun playing the game.

The bait has been planted.

If you bait it, He will come.

You still get a lot of experience points for longer games (the longer the game the more XP) - win or lose. Before you only got gold if you won so that was bad in longer games and absolutely awful if you lost a longer game. Now it doesnā€™t matter that much really and longer games are fine.

Cuz the deck(s) you use arenā€™t built for taking em on

Plus they play slow almost always. One of my rules for conceding is someone wasting the time playing slow. It is Super annoying. There is no reason to play this game slow.

Because you let them.

The concede button is there from the mulligan.

Thereā€™s nothign wrong with that. I have times of the month where I do the same. I only play the games that interest me and if I get too much trash in a row I donā€™t play anymore.

The key to that sentence is HISTORY. And itā€™s not remotely recent history.

Pissing you off and wasting your life is why people play control decks, and people who like them are (ā€¦redacted to avoid a ban).

Yeah, that Napoleon and especially Marshal PĆ©tainā€¦ Oh, wait.

And bathe in sewer waters, a.k.a. the Seine, which is apparently considered an Olympic sport nowadays. :grinning:

Or perhaps they think that aggro players canā€™t last longer than 30 seconds in bed, and so they prefer ā€˜quicker gamesā€™ in HS as well. :grinning: Maybe they also despise the infamous ā€˜turn 7 lethalā€™ā€¦ which is generally ā€˜way too slowā€™ for modern ā€˜aggressiveā€™ HS ā€” has been for some time.

Have you guys ever considered the possibility that different players might have different preferences when it comes to game duration and enjoy different aspects than you? No? Oh lĆ  lĆ .

Okay take a step back guys. I assumed most understood i was making a joke when i made that post. It was not meant to be taken seriously at all. Different players enjoy different styles of decks and thereā€™s nothing wrong with that. Play what you enjoy and donā€™t worry about anyone else.

When a person intentionally goes slow on me, then I go do laundry, wash dishes ectā€¦ Usually, after just a couple rounds of eff-eff (you know what I mean) they get back on track.
