I think the game could be so much more than: “lets mix up all the classes for innovation.”
It’s too late now of course, but all this team 5 has shown me is that they have very little in the way of actual imagination.
Lol, so much frustrations on this forum, you can cut it with a knife
That’s by design though. They want the aggro/OTK/Combo to be front and center because it makes the games “exciting”. What that really means is “Mobile friendly”. It’s not like they are going to change this stance because it’s what the mobile players want.
We would all like to have a meta that allowed both but they have decided at this point to try and compete with their competition. That means making game fast and accessible to new players to get them spending money.
I think it has more with not accepting the direction they want the game to go. You either go with it or hop off the train. There’s really no other options. They know the direction they want and that’s what they are going to do until they decide it’s not in the best interest of the share holders.
Ironically this same philosophy is working its way into BG’s now. Very sad IMO.
I’m not frustrated at all. I am disappointed in what I see as wasted opportunities for HS to be unbeatable in DCG’s, but instead the corporation has decided not to invest anything in real creativity, and intends to ride the same old stale formula into the ground.
Yep, it just lowers the room for skill expression the shorter you make the game as what you have in hand becomes more important than how the tools are used.
So now our “highest skill decks ever!” Are more about memorizing a card order so you can play your 30 card combo in the turn timer than they are playing well to set yourself up to win.
What happens is a blizzard dumb down game so everyone don’t have to work for something anymore. Most older gen had worked for gaming not today it handed to you. Look how many people want to work from home instead going work every day like used to.
I used to work 16 hours or more when was 40 hours a week contracted through DHS. I did not get to sit a computer I had work but off. I was making good money because earn not because demand it.
You sound bitter and angry, and not really speaking about HS at all.
I think you need to find someone to help you self examine.
Thats not the exact message im trying to say. Im mostly targeting all these people saying the game is dead or dying saying. its not. Im saying people are actually enjoying the game in its current state. I am one of them. People want to argue that im wrong and nobody is enjoying it. Im showing data that people actualy are.
People are in denial saying the game is dying when the stats show the current state of the game is actually bringing more players. The current style of HS is actualy what the masses want.
Long drawn out 20+ round games most dont or even have time for.
It HS it just point out what blizzard mind set is now dumbed down games same with other devs and give a stuff without earning like old days. We would not be in a mess blizzard stop doing this. It just point how new world is with gaming and overall everything we need to start making earn what do not hand everything included HS.
How fast and stupid does need to get before we say a enough and playing currently just like well win because I did most bust turn if those mess up whole match.
Not trying to be rude but, your message has too much grammar errors or well honestly I cant make out what your even saying…
I think the game could be improved, But I think you need to calm down.
I grew up working hard too. Many of us here did.
I am not angry that this generation has evolved to work far more efficiently than I was able to.
I celebrate that.
I’m more made how blizzard took a good Ip and just push it off a cliff and destroy it over the years. not all genz like said but some.
I get mad about that too. I can say were I in charge, I would reestablish class roles, no matter what the dust refund cost or whatever.
I would also relegate tech back to neutrals only. And I would get rid of neutrals that simply do way too much.
I would restore Highlander decks back to being Risk/Reward, instead of almost zero risk.
And I would also restore the nine class format.
Symmetry, and every class having a clear strength and weakness is what made this game popular.
Innovation should come from adding features, not from changing the fundamentals.
Mathematics are still mathematics, no matter what method to teach is used.
You would be out of business within a year. You aren’t playing to your games target audience. That always has to be a factor in your design philosophy when the game is Mobile first and PC a far far distant second.
Which is why I all but quit them. I don’t think I got to 2k ranking last time. Zero interest.
How would be out business if target both player base that would make more profit and blizzard making less now because of it. Company don’t just sale to another if they are making money still. Still to this day blizzard stock are low and getting lower each year.
You can look at the financial report, it public for earns.
Well, I am not a Capitalist. So, makes sense:)
Here the hearthstone report
Between January 1 and September 26 2023, Hearthstone reached $20.8 million in IAP revenue globally. This is down 57% from the same period last year, when the game generated $48.7 million, of which $20.7 million came from China
Total debt blizzard Owen on the balance sheet as of June 2023 : $3.61 B. So blizzard is losing money ever year.
Why would you play a card game where the deck is only Discover an IWIN card ? its the same like slot machines, hit the button untill 7 7 7 or 3 cherries … let that sink in a bit.
I agree Coin-Rogue is annoying but they’re not exactly dominating the charts with that deck type.
The loot-box esque, gambling-adjacent nature of card packs that thrive on artificial scarcity is a problem for anyone who is gambling-sensitive. That much is true and cannot be gainsaid.
