How is 2 archetypes health for HS

I wasn’t reffering to coin rogue, im talking about all the archetypes in HS right now and heres why :
Marin, in every game, most of the time on both sides, allows access to literally every legendary in the game, multiplies cards, alows insane tempo.
Every class has some way of discovering / multiplying everything, everywhere, all at once. At this point theres no class identity anymore.
So basically the game doesn’t have a natural flow anymore, it’s just do something untill the IWIN card comes.
All hail the HS generation of mouse clickers

I am acutely aware of what you were actually attempting to discuss. I swear, I need to create a “/SARCASM” macro and just use it as a signature appended to every post I make.

But DO they discover everything, everywhere, all at once, every single time for every single game? Is there ALWAYS a way out for the rat? If I made a deck with nothing but 10-costs, you’re telling me RNG will make ME win somehow?

“Class identity” is a loaded phrase. In practice, what I’m assuming you mean (please correct me if I’m wrong) is that each class has unique strengths and weaknesses. Kind of sort like rock-paper-scissors. Yes? Mages throw fireballs. Warriors are tanks. Warlocks sacrifice themselves for demonic advantages. Etc.

Problem is, balance is boring. True balance would be a coin flip in a controlled laboratory. All relevant variables accounted for - flip speed, starting height, gravitational pull, atmospheric changes like wind, somehow preventing it from landing perfectly on its side, etc.

Nobody likes that. That’s not why they come here.

The ironic part of this is that when you decry “just do something until IWIN comes” that literally WOULD be a perfect coin flip. You just wait until it lands face up.

Imbalanced odds is what makes games fun, in this sense.

First of all, your sarcasm leaves alot to be desired.
Now, nobody is looking for perfect balance, thats a 0 point, but as society today, HS became polarized. For several years unde Ben Brode, there was a natural flow and everyone knew what to expect from each class, and ofcourse there were highrolls back than also, but not every game, and certainly not from discovers that happen almost every round.
The game design has shifted into IWIN cards. Cards that hit the board and make impossible any kind of comeback. The trias agro-otk-control dissapeared.
Hearthstone used to attract people that actually think.
Whats there to think in constant coin flip ?

I miss the days of real game play.

Because taking advantage of mental addiction is so cool.

I wasn’t making social commentary on it. That’s a morality debate which i’m not going to get into. It’s just a proven way for them to increase their profits.

True when you could not pull a rabbit out of the hat like magic for the win. Now day it all like a magic trick when come to playing anymore, it look like magic but dumb trick at the end to make think it’s magic.
I mean not that person good playing but at one point someone going to pull the rabbit out of hat for the win because it just a show at the end. Same HS it nice to see, but in end you just stupid know what the trick is at the end RNG for the win.
