This morning I received the event quest, “Doin’ Somethin’ Unholy,” which reads “Play 5 Fel, Shadow, or Unholy-Rune cards.” I’ve played all three kind of cards, but nothing I do will cause the quest to advance. Is the quest bugged, or is there something that I don’t understand? Has anyone else noticed this?

Tried unholy rune and shadow. Same. Assumed it’s bugged.

I did not have this problem, after casting all those my quest was completed.
It is.
For example, there’s also: I cannot finish mission"Doin' Somethin' Unholy" .
As for me, I don’t thunk I’ve made any progress casting any Shadow abilities in Mercenaries, which usually does the trick.
As already said a few times (see, for example, this: Finishing event before 'story' quests?), many of these get completed automatically just by playing enough Hearthstone in any mode even if you don’t bother with the tasks, or quests, so it’s often not a deal-breaker.
