Does anyone like the new Arena?

Haven’t seen any positive feedback, just wondering

Carnivore said something positive:

Other than that, no. I’m negative about it too.

There is nothing positive about it.
I can´t buy it with gold anymore, only cash and you have one lose less. what is that??

The bar is low. I found old Arena extremely obnoxious because of its extreme randomness. I had suggested to make it only partly-drafted (close to old Duels but even more) which is true now but I’d prefer it if it was way more non-drafted (not totally of course).

But I’d prefer unlimited wins and more losses, and to be F2P (that last reason alone makes it partly unplayable for 80% of players).

You can buy Tavern Tickets for 150gold.

Really? I don´t have 150 right now but it offers only shards now.

I wish we could sell our packs for gold, all I “liked” was arena. All I see with this new arena is greed and would like to know from other players, what’s in it for the player base?

A reason to stop playing.

Nope. Balance is way off. The idea behind the new draft system was to create more equality and less “bad runs” due to having bad drafting luck, but since the power level is so vastly different between the classes and combos, it became much worse.

Two tickets for entry are too expensive too.

Um, Its only costing 1 ticket per run for me…

The small 5 win arena yes. If you get 7 wins in total you unlock the underground which is the actual Arena, entry fee is 2 tickets there.

Ah, well. Wasnt aware of there being a fake arena AND a “real” arena.

My Understanding was that Underground Arena was for the tryhards/highrollers that never can seem to lose anything.

Im in the opposite group, lol. I havent gotten a win in all 3 runs I;ve tried so far. Not much different from how Duels or Arena went for me before this updated format so whatevers.

I’ve got no issue with Underground costing 2 tickets tho. there ought to be a higher bar for entry for those tryhards/highrollers so that they are more likely to purchase tickets instead of endlessly freeload via gold.

You can use gold to buy tickets, 150g per ticket. So this change just makes it more expensive for everyone.

Only for the ones that need to use 2 tickets to enter the underground. lol. Not for us normies that have a winstreak of 0 so far lol.

I am 7-0 right now and I actually think me being tactical is rewarded compared to the BS arena was before. Decks are strong enough that a super good dark gift isn’t just game winning now for the enemy.

Only issue is the obvious cash grab of less rewards and less time spent arena with the gold you spend. Need a f2p version or more gold added for lower wins.

I’ve played hearthstone regularly since the original beta and spent ungodly amounts of money on the game. I had reached a point where arena was 90% of my playtime and I could earn enough gold off arena runs alone to fund almost all my arena runs perpetually. After a bad streak I would throw in a few dozen standard mode quests to make up the lost gold.

Now I can no longer play arena near endlessly without paying real money.

If blizzard wants this game to be a casino style gotcha mobile game… well, then I’m done. Bye :v:

They should have gone more into the partial-drafting way because the most obnoxious part of old arena was that it was TOTALLY random at drafting. Ie don’t only pair the legendaries with 2 or 3 cards but pair them with FIFTEEN so we get something pretty good.

Though the biggest mistake is not being F2P; 80% of players are F2P probably; get money otherwise from cosmetics etc.

wish they would remove the f2p entirely, not just for arenas. the game is that good, or at least it can be, the DNA is there and it would be fine to pay a nominal fee of like $15 a month or so to play it.

Elaborate on that. Not sure if you’re talking quality, or eugenics.
