The new “Core” set is an attempt by Blizz to give new players a better selection of cards, my advice would be to begin learning more about card interactions, and become better at playing(“piloting”) the default decks. Looking over these guides can be helpful.
There are a lot of good cards at common and rare rarity, so the short answer is no.
Getting cards from your collection to work, can be a challenge. And a lot of meta decks can be pretty expensive.
So I would stick to finding cheap substitutes, and work towards building your collection for the long term, where you can eventually have multiple of these decks, if you so choose.
