Disenchanting makes it approximately unlimited for many players’ needs. Making netdecks I mean if they know what they’re doing, not being completionists.
“Everyone will get one free entry into the Pre-Release Tavern Brawl.”
you need to click the spend 2 tickets, in order for it to show up
Wdym harmless? It’s paid for early access. Not saying it gives advantage on the ladder or anything. But it’s a mode that I would like to play but you basically need to pay for the big pre-order pack to have a chance at making a deck with new cards (which is what they’re trying to get people to do) and then you have to keep paying up to keep playing. It’s such an obvious money grab and sets a terrible precedent. Idk how no one sees this. Right now streamers are playing with the new cards and basically get to play a whole new mode and I can’t unless I pay up. And it’s not like arena because you can’t even earn gold.
This. So much this .
Now that I tried the “brawl”, I’d like to have the option to directly exchange my tickets for packs. the same ones that you get for 0 wins run.
I can’t possibly win, and it would save me much time I now waste clicking new deck, 3x queueing and 3x conceeding.
Those 40 packs are not worth the time investment it would take me to get them.
I will be brutally honest. The So-called “Early Access” is nothing but people using the current top meta decks to milk packs. 99% of games are the same DK or Warrior decks that use 0 new cards and are specifically designed to get to 6 wins.
I have spent 30 tickets on this thing (mainly because I never spend them elsewhere) in a vain hope of facing some of the new cards, and in those 15 runs I have seen 2 people who ran decks with new cards in them… That’s it.
The entire thing is essentially a fiasco if trying out the new cards was the general idea.
Yeah. It was just dumb to rotate the old expansions. Their greed to sell new packs destroys part of the game again.
you are lying if a bug allowing players to run 2023 expansions in this tavern brawl existed i woudlve seen reports about it here and on reddit
Nice strawman. They didn’t tell you that. They said they use BRAWL meta netdecks to farm packs.
I’m a casual-bob when it comes to Arena. I routinely go 0-and-3. I never take it seriously and I generally DON’T have fun with it. I only go there because otherwise, my tickets don’t get used at all. So this was an interesting theory: maybe I could use those tix, to have fun here in this brawl?
I genuinely feel like using my remaining dozen or so tickets on Arena, would be more fun than trying this Brawl. And that’s coming from someone who DID play it relatively early (yesterday), and went 4-3. Not bad, all things considered. But I’ll never go back in there all the same.
Those three losses, made me want to kick a puppy. I watched a movie and went to bed instead, but holy crapbaskets if that wasn’t the most un-fun experience I’ve ever had in this game so far.
And the most ironic part of all? I didn’t spend a single ticket. Because that was my “free” run. One and done, baby. One. And. Done. To heck with THAT place! Do not pass go. Do not collect 200 runes. Go directly to BG’s where I actually enjoy myself.
Now is day 2 of the Brawliseum, but its not hapenning. I have played more than 30 games so far and get several 6 win with Warrior Mech just using the old cards.
Mostly DK BBU, DK FFF, Warrior Mech, DH Pirate is steam-rolling other deck without using the new cards.
Except 1 Libram Paladin who actually a good.
I.e. their scheme to force people to buy new cards, is not only a fiasco because of their greed in the place, but a fiasco even if you subscribe to those nasty ultracapitalist practices.
How come? Iam a F2P player and was having more than 80% win rate in the current brawliseum without using the TGDB cards. I read in some forum this is also common situation with other players.
Yeah, this got real bad real fast. 9 matches in a row Mech Warrior. Wow real fun…
If the developers had any skill, they would had hot patched that deck out of the game, days ago.
I totally get where you’re coming from, but I think there’s another way to look at this event. Blizzard is a business, and part of the design here is to drive revenue, but it’s not necessarily to exclude free-to-play players. If you think about it, this event actually gives everyone a solid chance to compete in a unique format, even if they don’t own the newest cards.
It’s more like a limited-time experience, similar to a pre-release event in games like Magic where everyone plays on more equal footing, even without personal collections. The fact that you can use your own collection here is honestly surprising; I would have expected a requirement to include something like 10 new cards just for balance. That flexibility is a plus, especially since many competitive decks right now aren’t even heavy on new cards, which helps even things out.
I also think this approach has been beneficial overall. It allows those of us who don’t usually play Arena to make use of tickets, catches bugs, and gives all types of players a fun, balanced event. I agree that balance could use some tweaks (Warrior and Demon Hunter seem particularly strong), but overall, I think it’s a generous opportunity that doesn’t cost free-to-play players a cent.
Just not an equal one, so yes this chance is very solid if you are F2P.
