Lets just let forum moderators be best judge. They are usually on the ball.
It’s Blizzard’s definition. Word for word.
Crowing “I’m right and you were wrong, I win” to everyone on multiple threads qualifies.
No no no.
Extraneous is when you link to ads for male enhancement (although that might be relevant to some, idk) on a blizzard forums. If it is generally related to something going on in the current thread it does not meet the definition.
Go look at how they spell it out in more detail.
As does trying to dictate the direction of a discussion.
I’m trying to discuss the changes and what they may mean for Mage class. Do you have any thoughts?
Much needed changes. Mage players have been wanting a reduction in RNG, this is a step in that direction.
As I’ve said, I really hope this an indicator of cards to come.
I don’t use Solarian much so I’m not sure what i think. I generally rely on the opinions of more experienced players here for things like this.
I do play EVO. I think it will still be playable in my deck, though slower.
I’m not sure if it will affect me that much.
So quite a few then. Hey, just because you didn’t like them or that they weren’t meta, doesn’t mean they didn’t add them.
And I don’t see how “only targets minions” is such a big deal. So it’s not absolute immunity to any kind of threat, but not many cards in the whole game can provide that.
Sure, I was just browsing through what mages were playing after Witchwood, and they did keep playing those a while.
Well like I said, the Bliz post only talked about new decks, not new decks with sustain/defense.
Where did Bliz said ice block was holding back any deck? Again, I only have the old Bliz post to work with, if you have a different link, please provide.
I remember something about “design space” and things like that, but I would point out that the Team who said those things is pretty much gone now.
This you answered yourself.
???
What decks???
“It’s time to make more room for new Mage decks in Standard.”
Doesnt that mean Ice Block was taking the place of those decks , im not a English native speaker, but if something is taking your place and you have to make room doesnt that mean it was holding you back…
What the hell is this im done with you , no way im going into semantics with someone i dont know on a freaking game forum.
Goodbye feel free to take the last word.
I seriously hope that ‘Hearthstone Tournaments’ are not the basis for nerfs. There are more people watching animal crossing than stupid Hearthstone tournaments.
I play spell mage too. I think the prime change is fine. But evocation one isn’t. Evocation is already very unreliable. if they nerfed the mana, the reliability should have been buffed.
Are you new to the game because seriously they nerfed the top 3 classes based strictly on the tournament meta one year.
Edit: with way less than a month before worlds after people had already qualified.
Well this is a step in the right direction, the only thing missing is hall of faming puzzle box of yogg-saron
You’re right… now I’m unsure where I stand. Here’s one player’s opinion: What Kilbin thinks.
is a bit asinine to compare box of yogg with baku and grenn ( you are asking for it to be HoF so of course you are comparing them)
ikr, DH 1 drops are too consistent and has too much Synergy, literally nothing is wasted, as with mage, getting the Elemental Quest is a waste of a Quest Slot, and a good 2-3 other one drops are not that affective as well
I listed them, based on what vs reported.
…no, actually.
Consider the statement that came before that: “This Mage secret is a powerful card, and has been the centerpiece of Standard decks for years”
So a “new deck” is a deck that addresses that. And it’s actually very low bar to address. All it takes is for that deck to… NOT have ice block as the centerpiece.
With the card HoFed, by default any standard deck satisfies the condition.
Honestly. I’m not trying to spite or troll. I just want to clear things up.
Too often people read too much into what others say or didn’t say (not just for video game devs, but in life) and they assume things that aren’t weren’t there, which then lead to the belief that somebody lied or broke a promise.
This isn’t to say Bliz has never screwed up or didn’t live up to their word (I could think of them saying something about giving rogue new weapons after they nerfed blade flurry, but then it took a long time for that to be realized), but in this instance I’m not seeing it.
That’s pretty rich coming from Mr. “post a link and literally nothing else” half the time.
Tournaments are when Hearthstone gets the most publicity and peaks viewership at the game. This is generally the time where people who don’t normally play Hearthstone may be watching the game or people who have an invested interest in Hearthstone might be reading articles about the Tournament highlights.
It’s not a matter of Hearthstone viewership vs Another game’s viewership, but rather it’s about the % of Hearthstone community viewership during this time.
That’s why a lot of nerfs come after tournaments. These are the games devs are specifically watching. Data might say one thing behind the scenes, but when they see something iffy happen publicly, they often feel the need to address it to satisfy people invested into the game. Those who are invested into the game don’t have access to the behind the scenes data that the devs are seeing and some of these things get exposed during a Tournament.
One example I can give is Priest DK machine gun OTK. They knew this deck was a thing. They knew people hated playing against it. They knew there were complaints but they didn’t touch the deck. Tournament happened and everyone got to see it in action live. Nerfs came immediately. Deck went into wild, it then gets reverted. It was specifically nerfed because it made the game look bad during that time.
It’s important to note that they nerfed this like a month before it went into wild.
