Caverns of Time NO DUPLICATE PROTECTION

You are able to open duplicates in your Caverns of Time packs, but when you go to the collection it shows that you don’t have any of the duplicates you opened. For example, I got a Twilight Geomancer despite already owning two of them, and yet when I went to the collection, I still only had two. So instead of getting any dust for a duplicate card, it was as if I only had 4 cards in that pack! An incredibly game breaking bug that needs to be fixed and we deserve refunds. Return our gold and/or money, take away the Caverns of Time cards. Redo it all and have it work this time.

Same issue here. I opened ten packs and a majority were duplicates of cards I already own, although the “NEW!” text appeared.

So they screwed something up.

The caverns reprints are treated as entirely different cards. So the game thinks you don’t own any of them–because you technically don’t.

You can, for example, own four acolytes of pain, if you own the legacy versions and the caverns version.

You can then dust, for example, the legacy versions and keep your caverns versions, or dust your caverns versions and keep your legacy versions, or dust one of each to keep one of each.

I’m guessing since core cards aren’t disenchantable, they were able to do this ‘cards belonging to multiple sets’ thing a bit easier.

But since both versions are dustable for wild/caverns, they didn’t figure it out just right. I wonder how it’ll be fixed and how we [hopefully] will be compensated.

Same issue here. A lot of cards I already own are missing and I have to recreate them with no refunds. I also can’t find all the 147 cards in the library but only 60.

Change your filters. Cards from their original sets and caverns are displayed differently–the same as core cards.

If you filter to ‘wild,’ and you own caverns versions of cards, it will only show the caverns versions, just like how you will only see core versions of cards.

If you set the filter to the specific set, in your case, old gods, then it will only show the old gods versions.

Therefore, it’s possible to own up to 4 disenchantable versions of the same card, 2 from its original set, and 2 from the caverns set.

They’re associated, so you can still only have 2 in a deck, but for the collection manager, you will only ever see 1 version at a time.

Yes. That is the bug.

Some people are reporting that duplication protection worked for them just fine.

Others said it isn’t.

So either the reporting players might be confused, or there’s an actual problem with the duplication protection.

It doesn’t work properly. I had a card named Iron Juggernaut, now i haven’t get this card anymore. I search for “Iron” in the search tool (with various filters) and the card is still missing. Same thing happen with a lot of cards (i play specifically Wild) and all rarety are missing, I am 100% sure I already have all the common and rare cards from any expansion. The Iron Juggernaut is just an example.
Also, I openned a bunch of Caverns of Time packs and have no dust instead. I feel something really wrong is happening, like loosing many of my legendaries with no refund…

Yikes, this is very concerning! Is it missing even if you filter to the Goblins vs Gnomes set specifically?

There is definitely something wrong. I can confirm that i opened Jade Behemoth which i had 2x alreday from Gadgezan expansion but i still have only 2x under that expansion. On the other hand New one is not Listed in the Caverns expansion, which means that the card is not recorded anywhere. There seems to be dual logic or most likely a bug. Very strange and would need explanation from blizzard side …

For me it’s like cards I used to have and didn’t open are just gone. Feel pretty sure I used to own several of the cards that are now caverns of time and every single one of them except specifically acolyte of pain (idk why but I still have my legacy acolytes) are missing even when I just filter by the expansion they’re from.

Double check your filters carefully.

On the ‘wild’ filter: you will only see caverns versions of cards, if you own them.
On the caverns filter: you will only see caverns versions of cards.
On specific set filters: you will only see that specific set’s version of it.

You will never see both versions at the same time [just like core].

i think the duplicate protection issue affects the commons i got common duplicates of cards i own before i pulled the ones i was missing from caverns

but i didnt see this issue with rares and rare cards from caverns

can confirm. I’ve opened so many duplicates! This is ridiculous. Blizzard needs to refund this mess.

Yep, have this too. Straight up missing cards.
Opened 11 packs, and I have only 45 cards.
Serious issue.

Same issue here. I opened a Hooded Acolyte, a common I already had 2 copies of. I can find those 2 copies when I filter for Wild or Old Gods, but CoT version I opened is nowhere.

Also, as a likely-related issue, in the 11 packs I opened zero goldens; I know there’s probably no golden guarantee in just 11 packs, but it’s under typical frequency for me. Anyone else getting very few/no goldens for the number of packs opened?

Yea, wouldn’t recommend opening any Cavern of time packs till they fix this issue. The collection is also very janky as the cards require specific expansion filters to show the old and new cards.
Blizzard know about the issue though, it’s in this thread: 27.2 Known Issues

I don’t think the known bug you’re referencing, that they’ve addressed, is what’s occurring for me: in 11 packs of Caverns opened, 10 cards went straight up missing. Or I suppose it is the same bug, and those 10 cards are just temporarily “in the void” until they fix the filtering issue.

Same here. I open 20 wild packs and 10 Caverns of Time packs and the duplicate protection fails in both cases. We need a refund or dust compensation.

Same here, I opened 20 packs and I only count 79 in my collection (should be 100)
