Just the stamp changes… This is not a relevant difference to pay 2 times for the same card.

Same here! I have all golden legendary in CoT (all new legendary + all old legendary). but when I opened the golden packs, instead of getting the signature cards, I still got the same golden legendary cards that I already owned. so I have the same legendary gold twice but coming from two different sets.
I lost my dust, and my chances to get signature card form golden packs…

As someone who has been a loyal Hearthstone whale since beta, I was deeply disappointed when I bought CoT packs only to get cards I already bought years ago somehow marked as “new.” Meanwhile, I don’t even have all the new cards in the CoT “expansion.” I hope this was an error that will be fixed asap.

I was looking for this. Was going to open a thread about this issue, got screenshots and all. It’s as if we open dry packs. There’s literally 0 dust adding up to what I got, after opening packs that have only cards I already own. AND I’m at almost full collection in Wild, so this can’t be good. Other than the new cards, there’s nothing showing up! No cards, no dust, wtf?!?
Edit: If anything is to be fixed, I want my gold back, not dust!

This is beyond disgusting. I gave up on CoT packs because I like opening Wild packs quite often, and guess WHAT??? I get “new” duplicate cards from the CoT set!

I bought 25 Cavern of Time card packs with gold. Turns out, I got a whole bunch of cards I already had but they don’t show up as duplicates and can’t be turned into dust. What is going on with that? I’d like a fix or better yet a refund please.
[Collection] Fixed a bug with the Caverns of Time reprint cards where, if you own any copies of the original version and exactly one copy of the Caverns of Time version, the Caverns of Time version would not be visible or able to be crafted in your Collection.
They fixed this issue now and I can now see a bunch of x1 owned CoT cards that were invisible before.
Duplicate protection is working, at least for regular cards
but along the way you would have got all the new commons and rares anyway, which is why it starts filling out the other cards (that also have a version in the older sets)
Look up videos on yt, read the patch known issues, check your collections.
Pack openings and duplicate protection have been working since the beginning of the caverns launch.
The way the collection currently works is fully fixed and you will find you have all the cards you should have.
If you don’t think so, you read something wrong or understood something wrong.
Blizzard’s a shady company, but it’s not their fault you can’t read.
Google, Reddit, Youtube should not be the reference, Blizzard has to be clear and shouldn’t rely on external “sources” (with many quotes)
Yeah it’s working, but since the collection search has not been updated, not easy to understand what’s going on (I’m too gentle)
Fully fixed as long as you have an encyclopedia nearby to remember the expansion of every card.
I don’t think so, the explanation and the execution were wrong. Look at the number of bug reports. Even if these are “false reports”, it perfectly illustrates a poor communication. It’s not a bug, but it certainly is a big issue.
It’s not Blizzard’s fault if they can’t communicate properly.

Is this not a bug? I have all the golden legendaries from CoT (all new + all old in their first version). When I opened a golden legendary from the new set, I didn’t receive a signature card. But I received the old golden legendary in the CoT version. For example: I have golden Malorne from Goblins vs Gnomes set. When I opened the new golden packages, I received golden Malorne again, but this time in his “CoT version”.
Where is the duplicate protection?
Technically, the golden Malorne from the GvG set is not the same object as the golden Malorne from the CoT set. The duplicate protection works only inside a set. Unfortunately no, it’s not a bug.
This was not clear from the update. this is a scam

The duplicate protection is only most useful if you don’t already own all the cards of a rarity (either in their CoT or original set forms) once you do, it’ll start filling in cards you don’t own even if you own it already from another set (eg: golden Malorne from CoT if you already own golden Malorne from GvG)

So, I own pretty much all cards in wild, except a few epics and only a hand full of legendaries. That means, if I open WILD packs even, and want to get my last fel epics or leggos, I land a “New” reprinted card of the same I got already, because it’s “CoT” now. On top of that, it just doubles up EVERY single common, rare, epic and legendary I already have. Pure scam! And this is the breaking point where I believe many more will completely stop “investing” time and money in this shtshow.

Ditto 15packs no dust from duplicate cards.
I created new shureken cards for the robber and they fell out to me in purchased packs, I demand a return of 1000 gold, this is 100% fraud
kind of shocked this is still an issue - how can Blizzard even resolve this? - refunds? never regretted buying packs for $ until this bug happened
