I made this chart for a discussion in a thread that got deleted. It shows how many games it takes to go from Diamond 5 to Legend assuming a particular winrate, on average.

Note that the games it takes scales HARD once you get below 50% winrate. Assuming (quite optimistically) that you can knock out one game every six minutes, then every ten games in an extra hour of dedication, and the whole thing needs to be accomplished within a month (in between rank resets). That means that near 46% winrate every 0.01% of winrate difference equals approximately fifteen minutes of grinding. Or even worse if you’re running a control deck.
It’s simply not feasible to brute force a deck with a winrate below 46% up to Legend rank (outside of botting, but botting is bad, don’t bot). Even 46% means putting in 81-ish hours of work just on the D5-to-Legend climb and that can be quite difficult difficult for most people (with actual lives) to pull off in a month.
Also most of the time the #1 deck at Diamond 4-1 is around 54% winrate or so, and you can expect a D5 to L climb with that deck to average 13 hours or so if it’s reasonably aggressive (not control).
Was it your stats and skill thread that got deleted? If so… like why? Weird.
These stats fall in line with what I tell people. You should expect it to take like 120ish games to get to legend from D5 with a good deck and pilot. I think a lot of people lie or get super lucky with a great win rate and think otherwise.
Thanks. I was just wondering if the penalty I pay for playing mobile (probably lose 1/50 to a disconnect, even being careful), is worth the extra games I can squeak I’m while climbing.
Looks like it is because a .5% drop in winrate is made up for by playing an extra 10-20 games.
Feel you on this. I drive everywhere for work, and play this game during my 45 minute drive times between locations. Oh look I’m entering a zone with no signal, how quaint.
