The problem is that the rigged believers think that any event that doesn’t go 100% their way is rigged. Like the coin flipping example if they want head and the flips aren’t 100% heads the coin is rigged.

I totally agree with op, there are repeating patterns in this stupid game mode.and if u really want a proof that the game does favor certain players just watch all the big streamers(dogdog, shadybunny etc) and u will witness that they highroll almost every time, and that means shop offering them good minions more often , they fight kelthuzad and weak enemies more often(while i, as a f2p player keep being matched against the top 3 players every freaking time, just bouncing between steamerollers), and during battle phase it seems like they get lucky more often as well. now all these people here, including this “carnivore” whos in a very suspicous way, replying to every player daring to question this game fairness and randomness. will keep telling u its bias confirmation , and low rolls streak can happen. ok ye thats possible but if this game randomness is real random, it means that u can also have lucky streak right?but thats the point, in this stupid game there are no lucky streaks.

Who you know well because you have 6 posts. Get over it: some players are just better. Blizzard never had to micromanage how you will lose.

You WILL lose sooner or later. They just raise your MMR when you win so the next time the probability to lose is higher.

They don’t micromanage who and how you will lose. See our mistake was we thought RNG was a concept meaning Random Number Generate when in reality Blizzard uses the super rigger system made by a person named Auren Jee.

Battlegrounds is clearly rigged. It is possible to grind and gain more points but whenever you get close to any 500 or 1000 threshold it will give you an insane lose streak.
I have started to make notes of finishing position and points gained/lose and there’s a clean pattern. After a winstreak you don’t just go on finishing 5th and so on, but like finishing 7-8th within 8-10 rounds only. So where does the huge performance swing come from? Even if your opponents are better than you, you are not supposed to lose the whole game in 8 rounds after a winstreak. It’s clearly unreal on a true rng system.

Nobody at Blizzard is micromanaging HOW you will lose. Those people didn’t even have the skill to fix the Titan game-breaking bug within 1 week of discovery and you think they have the skill to do “deep rigging” like that?

You WILL lose sooner or later by just raising your MMR when you win a little because high MMR = better opponents.

Anything else is implying you’re the best player in the world who can’t possibly lose to better opponents.

I could argue that they may aggressively try to keep win rates to ~50% but that’s a different complaint.

Never had a big losing streak all the way to 6k.

And you’re conveniently acting as if people don’t exist in high mmr where there is no more threshold.

By your logic, no one is getting above 7k since the threshold stops at 6k and they get forced losing streaks.

None of these conspiracy theories ever make any sense logically.

I believe the selfishness that causes the "rigging’ feelings, is compounding with plain old tiredness. I mean if you play 10 long games in a day and you win a little but also get tired a little then the losses will come easier but they may not have the clarity to see that.

Read again what I have said. It is possible to climb the rigging just makes it artificially more difficult. According to pro players advises I am focusing on stable build before deciding which race to play. However when you get 0 cards offered that can improve your warband vs consistent strong warband to make sure you lose lots of health to get you out of the game in 8 rounds only is not true rng.

How do we know this? Maybe you got tired after a long day of gaming and you don’t see the plays others see.

Besides: seeing “0 cards that can improve” HEAVILY implies you’re unwilling to change Tribe mid-game.

What if a player with better clarity at the moment actually bought those cards and used them?

Or maybe what if they upgraded the tavern if that was better at the time?

Rigging doesn’t need to happen at all.

MMR is a proven method of matching players that increases difficulty as you get higher by default.

There is literally no reason to rig the game to make anyone win or lose in the MMR system because the system itself is a slow progression of difficulty.

If you’re at a point where it’s suddenly harder to win, then congratulations, you’re at the MMR you should be.

The problem is when players finally reach the MMR they should be at but think they are better than their current MMR. This is when “it’s rigged!” Feelings start coming into play.

It’s not rigged. Better players than you who consistently get higher than you based on their skill is proof.

Well, every season for last 5 seasons I’ve finished above the 7k mark. How come I go on big swing lose streaks in the 5k regions regularly? 2k wide range mmr swing every season? I can tell there’s 0 difference between 5k and 7k games. The pattern is the same.
Are you saying 5k and 7k points players have the same mmr?

Why is that bad? More specifically, how is doing anything else not just more unfair for more people more of the time?

This is actually the domain of my interest in general. It’s an effect which still isn’t scientifically defined (or at least not to my knowledge) but for which I already have a theory to explain it

In games where MMR plays a part, such as this one and chess, opponents just slightly worse than you are your biggest problem, because your skill advantage over them is just enough to matter in the long-term, but not nearly enough to override the “luck” factor (variance).

Being stuck in their own MMR for ages, they are playing hazardly, gambling, literally, hoping for a lucky break. Against such opponents you need a much higher edge than you currently have to beat them consistently, so the progress through that part of the ladder, for you, is harder and slower.

For a player a lot better than you, it would still be like to you is climbing in 3-4k for example.

I know this from personal experience playing such games. I’m not consistent by nature, my skills vary a lot, so I find myself re-grinding back to my ranks on a monthly basis. The effect is consistent no matter the part of the ladder you find yourself on. It’s universal.

EDIT: When you add to that the Pygmalion effect (expecting a win makes it more probably that you’ll win, and vice-versa), those two effects combined go a long way to explain what you described. Which is why I propose to you to change your mindset a little to help you keep composure in situations where it’s winnable despite seeming that everything is conspired against you.

Because of Pygmalion effect, you would expect to win against a weaker opponent, which is good mentality to have in the long-term. However, in the short-term it can make you frustrated and…well, apparently superstitious and irrational, when that doesn’t happen and your expectations get shattered.

You might wanna think about a question: are you a rational being? If so, then start acting like one. You CAN have good without the bad. You can be optimistic in the long-term without EXPECTING only good to happen, but KNOWING that mostly good will happen.

There’s an implicit assumption by these kind of complaints that success in ranked systems should follow with time spent, rather than skill gained. Players deserve to climb, even when they get “stuck” due to the matchmaker.

Well, the simple answer, that they don’t like, is that they’re just not good enough to climb and thus don’t deserve to. If you’re relying on lucky breaks to climb, then the matchmaker is doing its job.

Yes, that’s other group of complainers. The ones who “deserve” their rank, are narcissistic, and that’s at least 1% of the complainers

But I think maladjusted expectations are to blame for the most frequent group of people who complain. They think just because they’re slightly better than someone, they’re supposed to win every time.

No, you’re not supposed to win every time. You’re supposed to win 1 game in every 50 played more than them, and because of variance, you can go a looooot of games without even noticing your edge existing.
