Asteroid Shaman

Hello.

I am a player of Hearthstone since the release of the game. Rarely have I ever complained about the game, or the direction it is going (this is the first time ever I post on this forum to complain). But lately, when I (every second game) face an asteroid shaman and I inevitably end up losing, I have been thinking to myself: “You know, there are other games you could play”.

I am extremely dissapointed with these uninteractive decks. They suck all the fun out of the game, and I am about ready to leave the game because of it. I love Hearthstone, but I find that what I love is a memory of something that was, rather than something that is.

Thanks for listening.

control warrior right ?(asteroid shaman best match up) im pretty sure there are decks that fell the same when playing vs control warrior

isnt uninteractive you interact by summoning minions

thats why asteroid shaman best match ups are decks that barely summon minions

but! you can also face the 1.000.000 handbuff paladins, they are also a great deal of fun to face, such a creative and interactive game.

Yeah, asteroid shaman is unfun to play against. It’s so uninteractive, that you could play it, without looking at the opponents board. The deck just plays with itself. I do not agree, that it is overpowered. Certainly a tier 1 deck, but beatible by other top tier decks.
However; I still think it’s bad for the game. Sometimes a deck should be nerfed, not because it’s overpowered, but because it’s unfun. See Quasar-rogue for example. Was it ever tier one? No. Did anyone like playing against it? No. All reasons for nerfing Quasar, equally apply to asteroids. If what your opponent does, has no influence on how you play your turn, that’s against the spirit of competitive gaming.

Sidenote: I also don’t like the way astroid animations are handled. Why is it so slow? It just makes the mechanic feel even more frustrating.

or lower
ive beaten it with a crewmate DH deck with …dirdra

Nerf all the meta decks, then all the whining will stop, not

Yes. Asteroid shaman should be Evaluated for nerfs. The biggest offenders though are not shaman, but the neutral cards such as oracle and incindius. These two really make the deck as oracle can simply draw 2 asteroids or eruption cards killing your board with a +1 spell damage on top. On top of that it won’t matter what you place when incindius drops as the damage can easily get to 6-8 killing anything you try to play.

Shaman is an issue, but it’s not the design of the class. It’s the design of neutrals dictating the meta.

seriously how they thought oracle wasnt needing a nerf is beyond me. But then again this is the same team that left a game breaking bug in for like 2 weeks. So i guess i cant be that surprised. But still the fact it has caused so many issues and people are actually quiting over this card in the state this game is. Well thats just bad.

that comparison makes zero sense

why would anyone think (if it can be called that ) they left the bug on purpose ?

The biggest problem with asteroid shaman is Blizzard’s rigged RNG. It’s unreal the amount of times I’ve faced an opponent and they pulled 90th percentile or better “luck” with pulling “randomly shuffled” asteroids out. Oh you just shuffled 3 into your deck which took your deck size from 23 cards to 26? Sure, pull 2 out on your next turn. Then shuffle 3 more in on the next turn, and pull another one or two out on the following turn. The odds of this are like being dealt high pocket pair or pocket aces in hold em. I play HS with an odds calculator open on my desktop and just laugh at how rigged it is.

Evidently Blizz thinks this should happen a 1/3 of the time i face one of their masked bots using this deck.

They mean “they bad at development”, which is true. Though in this case they leave asteroid alive on purpose because it’s obviously a kind of “signature of the expansion” deck because of the theme.

and because it gets farmed by most decks we have right now

Yeah, I didn’t say it’s OP. I only agreed to half of it.

Posted the same thoughts about 20 days ago and said that this is by far the worst experience I had from any card game the past 20 years. Too many decks that simply dont let you interact with them. Too many archetypes that you just spectate them, clear your board from hand and nuke you. In a game where you can play cards only in your turn and the only way to interact with the enemy is through minions that are on board things like these shouldnt exist. No interaction = no fun. Many fanboys femboys enjoy this kind of gen z fancy quirky insane astro turbo giga “outplay” but you and me that lived the game in a different era cant agree. Funny thing is that the expansion is actually great with the stuff they printed (drenaei, crewmates, starships) but they dont try to promote them. Maybe game is beyond saving with the current card pool or maybe because rotation is too close they dont even bother. Blizzard got lazy… thats not new.

Starships are great, until they’re given reborn, get resurrected almost endlessly and your opponent has almost 70 armor, but yeah, cry more about asteroid anything, easily beaten by anything aggro

Aggro is fine and has its place in every card game. This abomination is not aggro though. Game in order to be fun has to initiate interaction without it you got nothing. Aggro Demon hunter is top tier yet nobody cries about it. You know why? Because it is a minion based deck. Units have to be played and stay in the battlefield where the opponent can actually interact with. That feels fair. You played bunch of minions. Can i trade? Can i clear the board? If not thats cool- game over. Thats not the case with asteroids though. You supposedly draw cards yet again you get the full value of the trap and it still draws… nuking both the enemy and his board for free?! No way to interupt this. Only way to deal with this is tank up and take the hits. Still pretty uninteractive and no fun.

I support you. I will boycott this game until retarded STEROID ASTEROID IS NERFED. THIS IS A MOCKERY AND DISRESPECT to other classes.

BLIZZARD LOST A CLIENT.

Every rogue, every paladin, every aggro deck destroys Asteroid Shaman.
Just stop playing warrior and warlock (btw they are not interactive decks at all) and play cards since the very beginning of the game (you need being AFK to let asteroid shaman win).
Asteroids should be nerfed, but the reason is Cycle Rogue.
Upd I really want to help, English is not native for me, sorry if it sounds not polite. Asteroid shaman bothers people bc players of non-high ranks often keep cards, do greedy plays instead of tempo plays – or pilot bad decks; try to do something opposite and you will be a king beating shamans – unless you will be high enough to meet a real problem – rogues.

team 5 doesn’t give a :poop:. about you. There too many whales that are supporting this game that will make team 5 to continue to ignore the community. you can boycott all you want, they’re going laugh at you.

I think you are missing the point here. It is not about the powerlevel of the deck. It is about interaction. Noone denies, that the deck has weaknesses. Yet what is it worth beating a deck, if playing isn’t fun?

I personally have a more then 50% winrate against asteroid shaman. Yet I’m always pissed when I see one.
