It is still a 100% increase in difficulty and only 20% more reward. A full reversion would’ve been easier. Why not implement a tier system if you want to “reward” players?
Because unfortunately the goal was never to reward players but, do the old…make it seem worse on the initial rollout and then revert to what was actually intended so they look like they’re listening. It’s a shame, it’s most certainly not the devs but the financial teams that manage these games. It’s become their standard playbook to try to deal with the backlash (they fully deserve).
As a casual I doubt ill be able to complete these even after the nerfs so still a big xp loss overall. The inital changes made me stop playing. These ‘fixes’ are not good enough. Its only good for some who have the time to play that much but a simple tier quest system so casuals can still get the same rewards then those who can play more can go for the extra bonus tiers would be a clear solution. I hope you treat casuals with respect and revert sooner than later, until you can do a better solution like above but for now goodbye, a sad week for hearthsone casuals .
A tip to everyone here: uninstall after 75 months playing = sigh of relief.
The grinding increase here is insane.
Blizzard, please: just revert the whole quest business. This is not right, the numbers are egregious!
There, fixed it for you!
Lot of people in the playerbase this week surprised to find out that Blizzard wants the weekly quest to be done over the course of a week instead of being done in 10 minutes lol.
Seriously there are actual issues worth complaining about right now like the removal of duels and a few of the meta decks. Don’t lose your heads over having to actually play the game to be rewarded.
Quest changes are still unacceptable. Pull your head out, Blizzard. This is punitive, not rewarding.
How do I downvote a post? This is unacceptable
Whoever the genius was on the Blizz team that came up with this greed move, I hate you.
You ruined my favourite game for the past 10 years and no this was not the only move, but there’s always one final nail in the coffin…
Thanks for all the fish.
I wouldn’t find it particularly challenging to complete the nerfed quests, but I find it beyond challenging to continue to reward the greedy bastards who thought up this scheme with my time and money. I’ve bought every preorder bundle, every battle pass, skins, packs, and hero portraits over the last 10 years. That stops now. The gaul to spit in the face of the people who keep this 10 year old card game alive when there are way more options than there were when Hearthstone started. Happy 10th anniversary Hearthstone, I was really hoping there would be a 15th but if this is the direction Team 5 has in mind, I don’t think the game will survive to see it’s 12th birthday.
What a joke, Blizzard must have decided a 10 year old game isn’t worth supporting anymore so they decided to kill it off. Happy Anniversary! See you all in Hearthstone 2 where we need to buy all the cards again!
Wait, I just went in game and saw Magnetic Zilliax was removed.
This is still terrible and unacceptable. Quests worked perfectly as they were.
I’ve been buying every tavern pass, preorders, and battlegrounds pass for 3 years now. The quest changes is disrespectful of my time, because I can’t play casually now to complete them every season. Hearthstone has always been a casual game to me and this change disincentivizes me to even play the casual 1-2 games of battlegrounds every other day.
I am uninstalling and will not be purchasing the new season of battlegrounds pass because of this.
Framing a 100% increase in requirements for 20% more Xp as listening to feedback is still a massively cynical attempt to reduce the amount of quests completed and push people into buying packs. Undo this completely and apologise to the players.
Also your quest design is awful and incentivises people to just crtl+F a keyword and play 30 of them instead of an actual deck as many short losing games as it takes to get the magic number. This is not hearthstone! Nobody enjoys playing with or against this! People completing quests by doing what they were wanting to do anyway is a desirable outcome.
no mention of the Octosari bug, where it’s token won’t get bigger?
no mention of the bug where three Moroes created by KT don’t tripple?
The targets of the old quests were good for maintaining player retention. Because as they were easy to complete, a player who was not so excited about the game could continue playing just to not lose the rewards and eventually could spend money on the game. As the quest targets are now no longer trivial to achieve, this type of benefit no longer exists and will inevitably cause loss of players.
The game already gives players an objective to pursue, which is to reach legendary or a certain rank that the player wants. But if you want to add some type of difficult quest for the player to pursue, the ideal is to add it without taking away the old benefit of quests, such as adding a fourth more difficult quest, and leaving the other 3 quests untouched.
Not far enough. If you’re only increasing the rewards by 20% you shouldn’t be making the requirements higher by anything above 50%. Dropping triple the requirements on us, saying “oopsie” and scaling back to double is not going to cut it. If you wanted to make the “Win 5 games” Weekly into “Win 7 games” that would be reasonable. Anything more than that is unacceptable.
Yeah if 10 wins is a lot you’de probably not playing much anyways. Time to move on
