So there has been a few posts about this and I just ran into this and discovered what in fact is happening and wanted to condense and make a proper post on the issue. This is working ‘as intended’ I feel but is badly explained in practice.
Gem Power Transfer
Allows you to pull food from gems to make them dormant (Expected behavior)
BUT
if you do a gem to gem transfer 100% of the original gem is transferred destroying it in the process with no warning given.
Had a rank 8 1* did a transfer to a rank 5 2* ended up with 25 bound gem fragments and lost the 1* gem.
What I feel SHOULD happen is either
- the gem becomes dormant and the remaining fragments are given to the player.
- A warning pops up informing the player that continuing with this action will destroy said gem.
How many players have lost high ranking gems assuming they would become dormant as if they had pulled the fragments out beforehand rather than this ‘shortcut’
