The normal gem counter counts up by 2 instead of 1, and stays at 12 until you cap it, after which the message that you are capped shows up.
This already happened previously. Ever heard about regression testing? When we fix a bug, we add a test to make sure it fails if the error reoccurs in the future. Ideally we add the test first so it fails before the fix and passes after it.

Yes…i experience the same thing after the update.
The daily gem tracker shows an incorrect number of the daily gems you found… again.
id ask how this is possible but i’ve given up my disbelief at this games ‘updates’
Adding screenshots to demonstrate the OP’s report…
Gem counter saying I’ve had 12 unbound gems…
Inventory showing that I’ve actually had 6 unbound gems…
–==[ EDIT ]==–
Next dungeon, 2 more gems dropped, counter still says 12 unbound…
The gems that dropped were bound…
These two gems should have been unbound, as I’m not actually at the 12 unbound cap yet today and, if I were, the gem counter would say I’d reached the unbound cap, and that I’d had two unbound (which the counter does not say).
–=[ EDIT 2 ]=–
Once the daily cap of 12 gems has actually been reached, the wording changes…
…and, you can see the party chat saying I’ve received a Tourmaline.
However, in the Inventory, the count of unbound Tourmalines remains at two, but the count of bound Tourmalines has increased…
So, what’s actually happening…
- The first six gems that drop are correctly unbound, but the gem counter is double counting them, so the counter goes up 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12
- The next six gems that drop are incorrectly bound, and the gem counter text is not updated
- Once the total number of daily gems that has dropped is 12 the gem counter text states you’ve reached the unbound daily cap of 12, even though what you’ve actually received is 6 unbound and 6 bound gems
This means that we’re only getting 50% of the daily unbound gem cap, as the other 50% is being incorrectly dropped as bound, and the counter’s completely misreporting this.

Ehh disappointed once again. It’s called cost reduction and trashy backlog of bugs, instead of hiring additional experienced dev they just repeating the same bugs coz they keep them in event packages… Seriously paying for game and getting such attitude no comment.
Are you planning repair issue or just make quickfix till event end? Probably the second as last time and it will show up once again with mirror event
The Mirrored Jewels event ended at 03:00 CEST this morning on EU servers.
Here’s my Inventory before heading into my first dungeon today…
Here’s my first daily gem drop, (counter correctly showed 1 unbound)…
Here’s my inventory after the drop…
So, whatever the bug is with the counter, it seems to be tied to the Mirrored Jewels event being active because the daily gem counter / unbound / bound drops issue started on the 16th April (which is when Mirrored Jewels started) and ended on 22nd April (which is when Mirrored Jewels ended).
