I purchased some sort of 5 star legendary gem that said I’d be able to select a legendary quality 5 star gem and did not receive said gem I received a quality 2/5 star legendary gem instead as it shows in another gem chest I have it clearly states I’ll receive a random quality gem between a 2/5 or up to a 5/5 gem however the gem chest I opened was not the quality as stated and I also was only able to select between 6 gems rather than the total amount of legendary 5 star gems that are in the game I can show a picture of the other gem chest I have showing how it specifies the different gem possibilities in the second file attachment. But the picture I submitted first shows the chest I opened stating I’d receive a quality 5 star gem. I ended up choosing the roiling du to the limited options available once opened. I wanted to get an echoing shade or blood soaked jade but I was okay with having the roiling had it been the quality 5 as stated I’m not exactly sure why my character keeps staining all these bugs involving my legendary gems but I’m becoming overly frustrated after have submitted tickets a few times in regards to my other legendary gems issues while not attaining any sort of help for the matter. I have pictures I’ve reported using a ticket that I’m unable to post here I screenshot everything now so I have ample proof of my issues that are occurring
The only chest that allows you to choose what 5-star gem you will receive is the “Masterwork Gem Selection Chest”. You can choose whatever 5-star gem you want ad that’s the one you get, it will be quality 2 and bound, as stated in the chest’s description.
The other option would be the “Masterwork Gem Random Chest”, that allows you to select six 5-star gems from all the pool and you get one of those, chosen randomly, also quality 2 and bound.
Whilst the descriptions on the chests themselves clearly indicate that you’ll only receive a Quality 2 legendary gem…
When you actually get to the selection screen to pick six gems (for the Masterwork Gem Random Chest) the wording is as follows…
As you can see, this indicates that a Quality 5 gem will be obtained, not Quality 2 as the chest’s description indicates.
This is the cause of the confusion, i.e. the chest description correctly indicates that a Quality 2 gem will be obtained, but the selection screen incorrectly indicates a Quality 5 gem gem will be obtained.
Blizzard urgently need to correct the wording on the selection screen.
I don’t remember buying bundles containing this chest, so I wasn’t aware of that bug, only knew that according to the description, the player gets a quality 2 gem.
And yes, I agree that this is has to be corrected. Shouldn’t be difficult to change the text in the selection screen, to avoid misleading the player into a terrible disappointment (even when they should be expecting to obtain a quality 2 gem from the start).
But think of all the income they would loose . It’s gotten bad with these little errors just being forgotten and added to the growing list of forgotten issues.
Not really. I mean, before buying the bundle containing the Masterwork Gem Random Chest, if anyone checks the contents’ descriptions, they should see that the chest will give a quality 2 gem, it’s only when opening the chest (after they have already bought the bundle) that the description says “Select your quality 5 legendary gem”.
It’s still misleading and should be corrected, but it’s not as if someone would buy the bundle believing that they’ll get a quality 5 gem, this is not stated anywhere until AFTER they have spent their money.
From a coding perspective, this is probably caused by a wrong message property used when opening the chest.
The screen looks like the text is used from that chest you‘ll get from that other market event, where it‘s 80% a 4 star and 20% a 5 star gem of your choice. Last time it even was a guaranteed 5 star gem.
Bad slip up in the end, but as already mentioned, it’s nowhere stated like this before buying the chest.
The main issue here though is that the in-game description is completely wrong. The in-game description clearly states that using the Chest should have given me a 5/5, not a 2/5. There are multiple Chests which give a randomised Quality, ranging from 2 - 5. I don’t use the Chests straight away since it is for me more about using those Chests to generate the right gem at the right time. Now this lead to me generating the wrong gem since I thought this actually was going to give me a 5/5 and hence I chose the gem where I would want a 5/5, not where I needed another 2/5. Considering I’ve paid money for this I feel rather cheated and expects the developers to fix this and I want some reimbursement for this mess. If I’m faced with two contradicting descriptions, there is no way for me to know which one to trust. I can of course be cynical and always go with the least beneficial to me but how many are prepared to risk using that Chest to generate a 5/5 and use it as dupe for an existing 5/5?
you paid for a chest that provides a 2/5 its not until after you purchase that it says 5/5 in error so how is this cheated? You get what you paid for in the first instance. If it offered it as a 5/5 when purchased you would have a solid case but thats not happening here
Where, exactly? I can’t find any items in the game’s shop that give this.
Again, I can’t find any chests in any bundles that include this.
When you look in the shop’s bundles, there are no contradictions, they clearly state that you will get a quality 2 gem, specific or random, depending on the chest.
I’d guess that only those who didn’t read or didn’t understand what they were buying.
