A fix that doesn’t fix anything cannot be called a fix as it doesn’t restore missing essences, which is THE issue. And to have an update stickied on this forum is only a fix to avoid player’s backlash as you would have sparked had you written a message on this forum. Therefore this fix is only about you making sure you only speak to your community but not with your community.
The update from the Community Manager was this…
That update clearly has two parts…
- They’re going to fix whatever caused the deletion of the Spirit Essences
- They’re going to restore players’ Spirit Essences that had been deleted
The Community Manager is actually doing something we generally don’t see, i.e. keeping the players up-to-date with what they’re actually doing to resolve an issue.
As with most social commentators you don’t read what you’re replying to.
A fix that isn’t a fix. No ETA on the real issue.
And keeping players up to date isn’t what my point was but the way in which this communication was done.
If you’re a happy shill fine with me. You’ll have the game that you deserve - stale, boring, repetitive, full of unresolved bugs.
The wording does indicate that rather than restoring what was lost they are providing a compensation. That’s a big difference. That compensation may or may not be anywhere equal what was lost.
The update from the Community Manager said they have a fix which they’d be deploying soon. That update was posted at 03:11 UTC, which equates to 20:11 Pacific last night. I imagine it’ll be getting deployed some time today.
Because their first priority was to find and fix the underlying cause of the problem. Then they work out how to make good on what was affected. Do you honestly believe that they won’t give players their Spirit Essence back?
You have two choices…
- Blizzard communicate with their players about fixing faults
- Blizzard don’t communicate with their players about fixing faults
I prefer choice 1 (especially since choice 2 is the usual situation).
You seem to be complaining about choice 1.
I am missing round about 5300 PET Essences. As compensation I got 3 back. Nice compensation.
Compensation is almost always 3 rare crests and a ruby.
I have serious doubts they can restore the precise number of crests that each person lost, especially if the player logged in and out several times and lost any subsequent essences. That would take coding skills, something NetEase has difficulties with as evidenced by this latest problem.
And yes, this is harsh criticism but it’s warranted.
They’re rolling out the compensations!
To call these compensations a joke would be an insult to jokes.
I received my 16.4K essences back in the mail today, a little later than many others did No comoensation though as was mentioned by the Community Manager. Just a ingenuous apology note.
You lucky one.
Blizzard took away far over 9.000 essences and refunded exact 48 essences.
First the mistake, then the impudence.
I am not as lucky as the other ones.
Blizzard took away far over 6.000 essences and refunded exact 9 essences.
With last game update I lost all soul essence needed to upgrade pets. Also new essence gets zeroed after restarting game, playing on mobile.
Saw some reports about recovered essence but not happening in my case.
WTF
I lost over 20,000, I like grinding contracts and runes in the tower!
I hope it’s soon because I have 30 family members to level LoL
I paid money for pet bundles and I paid money every month for the battle pass. If Pet Essences were strictly a free resource and I lost what I had found in dungeons and open world I wouldn’t be that mad, BUT, having spent real life dollars for the resource and having them all removed not only takes away the hours I spent but also the money I spent, as well. Being pick-pocketed of cash sucks. Having PAID for the resource I’m going to need 1) a refund on every battle pass I paid for since pets and Spirit Essences were introduced 2) a refund for every pet bundle I’ve purchased. 3 blue crests and one of every level 1 secondary gem will not be adequate compensation.
I will also NOT be buying the Berserk crossover phantom market skins. I am not comfortable giving them another $200 for orbs to pull for all the skins while they’ve already pick-pocketed that much + more from battle passes and pet bundles.
I lost all of my essence too and I don’t even receive any email yet. Im really curious how this bug Blizzard will solve.
Good morning,
I’m starting to get really angry. I pay a lot of money for the game, and then the spirit essences I’ve saved (several thousand) are reset to zero.
Then only the essences received from the previous day are replaced.
I hereby demand that you fully refund the received essences (breach of contract due to a program/update error).
Furthermore, I demand compensation from you.
You are obligated to keep the program/game in perfect working order (Warranty Law for Digital Media - Europe).
Furthermore, you should finally get the class balance under control, for example (combining High Resonance with High Resonance in the battlefield).
Sincerely,
Mlordi
Received 51 essences back. Lost several thousand. That’s a serious discrepancy.
Errare humanum est … more than 12 hours have been passed after the fix … only my main character received 31 Spirit essences, not all the essences he had … but … no apologising mail to the minors (I don’t like change class, I prefer grew up a new character when I like to test a new class) … just 1 essence as compensation for the minors.
I understand … the bug was a big one … you cannot Identify all the characters that lost the essence, nor to return to the identified ones all the essences they had before the bug … maybe also because we have played and gain new spirit essences, lost at the logoff if done before the fix …
neverthenless, I thank you for your effort to fix the bug asap.
I know, depending on the gamers pressure, it was not so easy to find he bug and find the better solution.
The newest update on the matter says they’re still working on restoring the actual lost amounts to everyone. It just takes more time than anticipated.
Apparently they need more data. When was the last snapshot of all characters taken before the patch? They should have plenty of data. They should have a rough idea of how much everyone had. Just give all that back plus some extra on top for all the annoyance we had to go through.
Yeah I expect the ones that were redeemed in the mails were only the quantities gained after the patch broke the original stacks. Lets give them some time to sort through this mess.
