Crashes after installing latest nvidia driver and PTR

I have ran D4 flawlessly for months and fine the past few days(even after latest patches.)

I downloaded PTR today and would not let me launch due to a 2 month old driver. I install and PTR is stuttering and crashes. It does the same on retail server.

  • I uninstall and revert to 560.81 driver and crashing still

  • I uninstall PTR and no change still crashing

  • All my graphical settings are the same

  • Scan and repair came back fine

  • UPDATE: I can’t even load Infernal Horde, it crashes on player load screen. Uninstalling and reinstalling game now.

You may have to use the DDU GPU driver removal tool. There are instructions on how to use it properly on their website. You can find a link to their website under this page:

Better steps can be found here:

So far this helps,

Crazy thing is my laptop CPU temps were getting high (92-94c) now they peak at 82c after using DDU gpu tool… I was about to repaste.

Well that may be an indirect result of reverting the driver.

Some laptops also share the heatsink for both the GPU and the CPU too. My MSI with a 3050Ti shares its fan and cooler with the 10th gen Intel i5 CPU. So they often run similar temps when gaming on that laptop. Though I rarely game on it anymore. Its mostly used for office work nowadays.

did the same thing dl that driver and gets as far as loads chars. Press play and ends up a black screen. And finally a close program screen

Just downloaded the PTR and tried to play. Crashes on launch with Fenris error and this code.

First launch 74F00D27-8B6B-4423-B9E2-3B55622C0476

Second launch 98FB341E-28E1-4CE2-B858-443F6B474A85

Was hoping to check it out.

I experienced the same thing. I had Windows roll the GPU driver back and that fixed it for me. Hopefully anyone else that’s having this issue can find an easy fix.
