Have you updated your drivers?
Iām having this problem too with 30 series RTX. Never had a problem at all playing D4. No stuttering or lagging ever, even around release date. (Except the occasional rubber-band.) I just about got to make a character since the release of S4, and get into the game but then I opened up my menu and all hell broke loose. I saw on another thread to delete the game and do a fresh install which Iāll try after work, Iāll update if it works.
For the love of gaming Blizzardā¦ please fix this garbage!
Iām trying to play with my friends and it freezes constantly. Every time I open a UI for the second time in a short span it just locks.
In multiplayer it happens much more often.
Honestly, this is really really bad.
EDIT: I managed to get rid of the freezes for the last hour by disabling multi-GPU in my BIOS. Weāll see if it persists tomorrow, but itās encouraging. Multi-GPU is where it uses the low power Intel GPU (on my core I7) for desktop apps, and my nVidia PCIE GPU for gaming.
Iāll throw in here too. UI interactions seem to trigger freezing. Similarly, character creation freezes frquently, both have audio still running. When its not frozen, its still a laggy mess.
PC is fine and fully updated drivers.
Guys, I think I may have a solution for some of us.
Once upon a time I reduced my pagefile size. Itās something like a support section for your RAM, borrowed from your harddrive space (or something along those lines)
Increasing my pagefile size made my UIās responsiveness acceptable again.
Google āpagefile sizeā and check it out, itās not difficult to figure it out.
Hope this solves it for you!
Just re-installed the game, it freezes every 10 minutes, the game is now uninstalled after lookin at this post and noticing nothing has been done from BLizzard. My PC is not the issue.
I can guarantee that my computer is clearly weaker, and the game is installed on HDD. I donāt see such a problem. There are delays and stops in completing codes when the server requests. This is opening the inventory, viewing the characteristics of items, dropping items. It looks like the problem is in the servers, there are simply fewer people on my server usually.
I had to downgrade my graphics drivers so I know the feeling brother
still freezing very frequently. cpu usage hits 0. you have to close app from task manager. they just cant fix it. you need to be competent to do so and we know this team. i dont expect fix soon if at all
you are not alone ā¦ i am on the same boat ā¦
but either the white knights flags topics like this as spam or blizzard themselves just hide under the hood flagging as spam ā¦
good luck hope we all solve the issue ā¦
Returning player from launch here (hated the game at launch)
Well, Iām really happy so far with this fourth season. But the constant lags and freezes and random crashes are driving me up the wall.
Iām a gamer with a fairly good rig (i7-7700, 3060ti, 16Go RAM), updated drivers yada yada.
Can we have a blue acknowledging this or is it all AIs running the show now?
never trust a computer you canāt Throw out a window
Hey I donāt know if this helps, but it possibly helped me get rid of all freezes and lags.
Go to the launcher, game settings, modify/change installation, and install the high-res textures.
For some reason, once I did that, my weird freezes just stopped and have not had it happen again throughout leveing a whole new character to 100.
(Iām also using 3060Ti, with i5-13600K, 64GB ram.)
ITT - People not realizing that there are a hundred million different PC parts, and exponentially more ways to put them together. Thereās gonna be a sample size of those like OP who have issues, then thereās gonna be the majority of people like myself whoāve never seen a crash in D4.
Could be a cashe issue, ram compatibility, fading CPU, drivers, or hell, something as stupid as a wonky USB device plugged in. This isnāt a PC tech support forum though, and OP didnāt give a full list of system specs, driver versions, exact time, place, and condition of crashing, error codes, game settings, PC settings, other apps running, etc. etc. etc. etcā¦
Oh, but a known variable is Nvidia cards suck for D4. Like, theyāre super bad. Save your lunch money, buy an AMD card, or even an Intel card has better D4 support (and honestly those ARC cards are killing it for the price point).
Just vlean up your potato, reset shader cahe files. Reset dx cache, remove temp files, disable the stupid useles gadgets that you probably have runnin in the background ,
Anyways my 4 year old potato on 3700x and a6700xt runs the game at 1440p flawlessly with 4 dif browsers in the background. For music. Being able to use a pc properly seems a skill nowadaysā¦
Iāll take mansplaining PC issues for 500, Alex. If you donāt experience this issue, just shut it. Nobody needs to hear youāve never experienced it. It helps nobody but your gigantic ego.
āJust do thisā ājust do thatā oh wow thanks genius how did we not think about it now and the 1000 times before that when it was discussed in other threads dating months ago. Really helpful.
If you have nothing of value to add, or a solution, just move along. Being able to use a forum properly seems a skill nowadaysā¦
Iām also getting extreme freezes but it only happens when teleporting to town, or going back through my portal afterwards. My game will completely freeze for up to 5 seconds.
My specs are:
Win 11 22H2 - OS Build 22621.3737
i9 12900k - no overclocking
RX 6900XT - no overclocking
64GB RAM @ 3600Mhz - XMP enabled
Diablo is installed on an SSD separate from my OS and running at 4K Ultra with AMD FSR 2 enabled on balanced mode. It runs completely fine outside of teleporting.
SOLVE WORKED FOR ME
Go to the Task Manager ----> Advanced ----> Choose diablo4.exe ----> Go into set affinity ----> Choose all of you āprocessorsā
I SAW IN MY LAPTOP HP OMEN PROGRAM THAT ITāS āOPTIMIZINGā MY PROCESSOR SO I TURNED IT OFF AND ITS WORKS
I also downloaded QUICK CPU and i unparked and made my processor full efficiency in this program
I have 3 computers. my home computer is a 10th gen I7 with an nvidia RTX 2080 runs flawless. My work computer is a 12th gen I5 with a NVidia 1050ā¦ Lower graphix settings but runs flawless. My Laptop is a Dell XPS 12th gen I7 with NVidia 3050 RUNS LIKE CRAP! Unplayable freezes. Everytime you TP or open a menu it could literally take 2-3 min. If you do make it in as soon as 4-5 monsters fill the screen youāre frozen and when it unfreezes you are dead. I tried to use the NVidia optimize game thing. Now Diablo 4 flashes as you stand there and when you move looks okā¦ till you try to do something then frozen again. I even set graphix to LOW and get the same results. IT Administrator for 25 years been playing diablo since D1. FYI I have been having this problem since season 3. Was hoping 4 would fix it. I have uninstalled D4, manually deleted everything left over and re-installedā¦ Same issue. Slow day at work so Iām going to play around with troubleshooting. I will report back. Sucks game is 50gb min size. Right now re-installing and leaving out high def options on installer.
edit. install completed still had the shadow issue. i disabled Ambient Occlusion in the settings and that went away. just ran around the helltides for about 10 min with spin to win barb. no issues at all. So it looks like its something with the high def stuff so if you just want it to work for now (till they fix itā¦hahahahaha) re-install and deselect the hi def option. worked for me. PS I have all the settings on quality and high besides ambient occlusion
I had similar issues. upgraded my ram from 16g to 64g and all my issues went away.
