Game is utterly unplayable for me anymore, opening any parts of the UI cause my entire PC to just lock up for 1-2-3 minutes at a time, then finally and randomly it catches up, but trying to exit the interface panel that just came up causes another hard freeze of the entire PC. Same thing for trying to exit D4. This is on a 5800X3D and 7900XTX. Something very fundamental is broken with D4.
When I read through this thread it seems like Diablo IV is using more RAM after an update, then upgrading your RAM from 16GB to 32GB or more helps as well as increasing your Windows pagefile size if upgrading your RAM isnât an option.
Also the high definition texture pack tends to use more RAM, first Graphics Cards RAM and if thatâs not enough your system RAM if Iâm correct. Either selecting or deselecting the high definition texture pack when installing Diablo IV seems to fix things for some.
There are also players where the cpu utilization is an issue and for these setting the Diablo IV exe affinity to use all of the cpu cores for Diablo IV seems to fix things.
Something to note is that each update to Diablo IV downloads additional files and your SSD or Hard Disk might be almost full, i.e. only has a bit of disk space left. But then other similar games would function just as bad.
Do the same problems also exist on the Season 5 PTR?
I have 32GB of RAM already, so I have zero explanation for what makes the game run this way. Are there any broken graphics settings anyone is aware of that might be causing this horrible performance?
Still no fix, the game is totally unplayable on Windows PC.

(canât post vid link here for some reason) If You canât find it just open game instalation folder. Right click on âDiablo 4.exeâ file, choose properties, then compability and tick âdisable fullscreen optimalizationâ

The game is currently unplayable. I play every game on the highest settings without a single frame out of place but get constant freezes resulting in frequent death. Playing on SC was unenjoyable and HC is entirely unplayable. Please fix your game. Iâll try again next season.
Not sure if I responded before, but I have been gettiing freezes and client crashes randomnly since last patch.
The things that always seem to be an issue with this happening are Gameinput Service (uninstalled this for now, MS will reinstall at next update) and Game Bar (I just end task when I see this one, I need it for my xbox elite controller for other games I think).
These two seem to help a bit with the frequency of which it happens. See if they are running when you freeze or crash.
In the end I do believe there is a memory leak with this game, so restarting the pc may help also thanks to Nyurei for this suggestion as my pc is almost always on for other things and as I told him âthis could be the case for meâ. But this issue is only specific to this game, no other apps or games have this issue. So still their issue.
Just another in a long list of replies. Great gamer pc, 1G Internet, Tried all the upgrades, repairs, uninstalls, settings bla bla. This game is broken in season 4. Diablo player from the start. all good things must end I suppose. Regret buying it. donât waste your time on a ticket eitherâŚ
