Dam thats a bummer if required to be max level to go into a difficulty thats probably just as easy at level 50
Im pretty confident this entire update was in order to time gate the season a little more to stretch out player retention… i mean… does a bear poo in the woods?
Though you do earn 10 extra skill points while you do it. And it’s an hour.
Right but again, this complaint is centered on the nerf to items, not on the leveling. It feels worse to play because they took away some of what made your build function smoothly. That would still be true if you were level 60.
If you can get GA mythic uniques and 2/3 GA legendaries with perfect masterworking and tempers in that amount of time you must be some kind of D4 god
Nobody cares about skill points and paragorn, we care about our gear that took months to build and now is gonna be plain trash because it will be all nerfed to 540
How are you supposed to spend just “a couple of hours” to gear EVERYTHING up again in order to do a pit 130 equivalent?
Tell me, i’m legit curious about that
People are already doing that with just their 540 gear. So eternal players will have no trouble.
Can you please link me a video where people are doing new pit 70 (Basically old 130) in ptr with 540 gear?
I have no sympathy for external players who are crying about having to find newer and better gear. The argument that they have worked to find BIS gear doesn’t hold water from a reality point of view.
Let’s say you are a warrior from 1200 BC and you have all the best equipment and have mastered all the fighting techniques for that gear. Historically that puts you in the Bronze age. Suddenly the Iron age starts and steel becomes a thing. All your gear is now obsolete and so are some of your fighting techniques. You could whine and complain and keep your bronze gear but it would not end well for you. You must instead adapt and overcome.
There is a coming shift to the Diablo 4 paradigm and it will not be the last. Crying and whining will not change anything. Like the bronze age warrior you must adapt and overcome with the new steel age.
You completely miss the point that the “new” items are neither new, nor better. in your example when you have bronze age equipment they simply take that away, give you one wooden stick and tell you to go get your bronze age equipment again.
That response would make sense if in this case the bronze age wasnt having the bronze all ripped from their hands and replaced with stone, like is happening now.
The seasonal players may be entering the iron age, but only at the expense of the eternal player.
Gear is getting an upgrade. Your old gear is exactly the same as it was but newer better gear is now becoming available. Lowering the number is arbitrary. They could have easily left the gear rating at 925 and introduced new gear with a 1225 rating which is the second time they have introduced new gear with a higher rating.
How awful that you have to play the game and find better gear… I’m sure almost everyone has been affected by your cries of pain and wants your suffering to end… (not).
But that’s factually not true. Stats like attack speed, crit chance, cooldown on the new 750/800 items are the same as they are on current 925 items.
After they nerf current 925 items to 540 all these stats will be reduced to 30-50% less values, while the new 750/800 lvl items will have the same stats as current gear before nerf.
Can you show an example why you think gear will be better?
This is so confidently incorrect.
My live game grandfather at ilvl 925, has the same exact dps as the new 800 lvl one on PTR
THe same grandfather i already had , had its ivl adjusted to 540, thus bringing its dps down to a 540 lvl item - about half of what the 800lvl is.
Its the same exact power, not new, the same level we already had.
You are missing the point. They could have left all those number the same on the old gear and raised the stats on the new gear. The effect would be exactly the same. The bottom line is they are introducing new gear which will be better than what you have now. Instead of gaining sympathy for external players you are embarrassing yourselves for complaining about having to find better gear by playing the game.
Again, that’s not true lol. What you write is true for raw weapon damage or armor, but not for other stats. For example cooldown is capped at 75%, so reaching it with current gear vs. they nerfing it to something like 40% after lowering gear level to 540 is obviously not the same. Even if they would have raised the cooldown % on new gear it wouldn’t have improved existing one because of the 75% cap.
So what you write is just simply wrong. There is a difference between adding new / better gear and nerfing existing gear. We would all support farming better gear, but not intentionally nerf existing items just to having to find the exact same ones again.
Using your own weird analogy: it’s like your bronze sword magically got turned into a wooden club and now you have to find the same bronze sword again…
Ive tried to explain this 3 times and he just doesnt get it
Ignorance is bliss. (20 char)
They also disabled MW on your old bronze sword. You absolutely have to go find a new version of the same one. Again. ![]()
Not only that, they then said a new bronze sword can only have 1 temper on it , so essentially you have to go down in power to get back to the same power you already were.
Lol GG blizz, well done.
