Set pieces need to be buffed individually. So 1 piece, 2 piece, 3 pieces, 4 pieces become usable. Also promote set diversity by buffing the usage of multiple sets at once.
If they stick to a buff/nerf cycle of some sort, it will efficiently temper each class/build over time. Maintaining balance is important for preserving the enjoyment of the game… The idea of throwing nothing but buffs at everything is just absurd.
This proposal is not about buffing sets, it is about exploding sets into smaller usable parts, just like legendary items. More granularity means more possible combinations.
But this proposed buff also buffs using 6-piece sets. It doesn’t help using 1, 2 or 3 pieces relative to the current scenario.
People already combine sets as well in some cases (6-piece + Captain Crimson or Aughild, or 6-piece + Focus/Restraint e.g.). They don’t need more multipliers for no extra work.
Exactly. That is the very reason of the state of D3 now. Because there were only buffs, buffs and even more buffs, the amount of power creep has gone to ridiculous levels.
And this suggestion by the OP does indeed buff those 6-piece/3-piece hybrid builds as well, as mentioned above. The suggestion is not creative, does not bring more diversity (it actually reduces it), etc.
In a similar vein, I have suggested “Blackthorne’s Battlegear” or “Krelm’s Buff Bracers” set as adding damage per set item equipped. I have played with the numbers a bit; six peice set of Blackthorne’s could add 12,000%; whereas Krelm’s could add 200% more damage for having two pieces equipped.
