Check MissCheetah’s cosmetics guide. Select the code from any of the tables and you’ll see how to get an image in a table with multiple columns.

Hint: You cannot mix markdown and HTML code inside the tables. It has to be one or the other.

Of the examples you’ve included, the links are for web pages. The images are embedded.

I’m trying to link to images I’ve uploaded to Imgur.

It doesn’t matter if they’re webpages, since they still end with the image filename itself (ending in .jpg/.png, etc.). You’ll notice that the actual images are linked directly just like you’d do from imgur.

There are also two image filename links in each table entry. One is for the underlying file so that when clicked on it opens it up in a new tab, and the second is for the table view itself where the image thumbnail is displayed and scaled (hence the “width=xxx” entries).

This is the baseline code I use for creating tables:

The trailing </tr> for each entry is not required, but can be input if desired. The second and third URLHere entries are the direct image and thumbnail image lines respectively. The ><a href= section at the beginning of the table entry’s first column is where you enter the text description in between the >< symbols.

Test modification of your latest attempt.

Syntax used:

The a href argument makes it clickable and the img src argument indicates it’s an image. The URL should match, with one exception: a space after the end of the URL followed by width=xxx where xxx is the width, will scale the image to another smaller size where necessary and most importantly keep the aspect ratio.

You can add a <br> just before the </a> to force any text entered after the <br> to show below the image if in a table.

The differences between yours and mine:

Yours takes an extra string, which includes the image URL a second time.
Clicking on yours opens the enlarged image in the same tab, causing you to leave the page.

I guess it depends on which you prefer.

I liked it better before. When you could click on the image and it would open enlarged, in a separate window overlay. When you closed the overlay window, you would still be on the current page.
