Missing Item from Inventory?

Hello team, I looted a Gibbering Gemstone earlier today and now it is missing. I looted it as it was the last item I needed for the staff of herding, besides the crafting plan. I placed it in my storage with the other items I looted for the staff and then farmed Izual until I looted the crafting plan to make the staff. I went back to my storage to grab the crafting items to create the staff and the Gibbering Gemstone was missing. I did not lose it or destroy it as it was in my storage. I am thinking this could be a bug? Took a while to farm it or I would just farm it again…Hopefully this isn’t affecting other players.

Use the ‘search’ function. Items don’t just disappear from your stash. You’re overlooking it.

That was the first thing I did. Checked like 10 times in my whole inventory just to be sure. I don’t have an explanation for it but I am telling you, it’s just gone.

Do you have more than one seasonal hero ? Could the Gibbering Gem be on a different hero ?

Also:

• Teach the plan to the blacksmith…
• Under staff, select Staff of Herding… (make sure you “Show All”)
  what does it say for Gibbering Gem (the crafting materials do not need to be in your inventory) ?

Well, this is disconcerting. There have been a few posts about the Staff of Herding disappearing after crafting:

I farmed all of the mats for the Staff of Herding and the recipe. When I crafted the staff, my mats were used but I did not recieve the Staff of Herding.

Crafted the Staff of Herding in act 4, It consumed the required materials and then never put the item in my inventory. I have tried relogging to see if it will how up that way and still no Staff of Herding.

Just farmed the staff of herding materials for a good 4-5hrs this morning, gathered them all up, was very excited to complete my altar upon crafting it and when I crafted it, it completely disappeared. Not in my inventory, not in stash, not equipped, not on the ground… very disappointed. Please assist in any way possible! Thank you.

Staff of Herding is only ONE USE?

Since when? Did this change? I’ve had one in my stash for ages on non-seasonal. I got on this season, and used it once before I sacrificed it … and it’s totally gone out of my inventory… Is this a bug? Is this intended? If it was one time use, I’d never have wasted it on that stupid gem run. Is it possible to get it back at this point?

The only rational explanation I can think of is small rollbacks on the server, and it happened to affect something that was very important for some people.

For most people, they wouldn’t even notice it if the game were rolled back 30 mins to an hour, unless you were very low level, or had had gotten a primal or other special item during that time.

I had one today. I was in a vault, I had just killed the Greed and opened the chest and I was disconnected.
When I relaunch a game, I had in my inventory the items that I had deleted before the vault, and the puzzle ring in my stashes… And I’m sure I only had one.

But that would cause a network issue and basically boot the player off the server. I had a similar occasion years ago. Got a disconnect message, and when I logged back in, I noticed some items I had that I salvaged, and some new items I just found that were missing.

The cases reported here didn’t describe any connection issue. It just sounds like they never received their Staff, or it just disappeared. And it’s hard to think of an alternate reason of how or why it happened.

My Gibbering Gemstone and I had two Black Mushrooms. I am over level 100. I had two Black Mushrooms. And Gibbering Gemstones. I hadn’t played in about two weeks and now, logging in. And on the same profile, same level, same difficulty, same character, it’s gone. And yes I do have other games . And I switched over to them to make sure and, no. Those were not in inventory. Reading the previous, seemingly exhausted replies, non of them seem to explain why those items are gone. Everyone seems to think it’s a glitch or error and the replies seem to turn away at that, and try to provide another reason. Which I have looked into and yet those possible resolutions, Do not exist. So now, I’m left with trying to get the Gibbering Gemstones again!

And I’m sure I’m doing something wrong that someone will enlighten me with.

I read on the topic, and decided to keep everything on Normal. And work up again from there. To be familiar with the path and to reacquire it on other levels.

Or, the game (God Forbid) has errors. And we are paying very much “extra” for it.

Which leads to, Bye Bye purchases.

Then again, Blizzard always has it’s rollbacks and delays.
