So everyone else is ok with this?

He didn’t do it S3, so what’s your excuse here?

Now that TZ farming is superior to the cheesy tactics, none of you managed to get 99 even close to his time.

D2 race to 99 was always about teamwork. GERBarb vs RUSBarb anyone?

So many poor excuses, but it all comes down to you failing to beat those guys, while you could just do the same.

I’d still prefer capping p8 xp so that groupfarming > solo farming and adjusting groupfarm numbers.
I’d rather see a team on the first 8 slots than a solo player on 1 and his 7 teammates a few lvls behind.

Hate?? Well its you being wrong so i am fine mate. Keep coming up with more excuses. Noob like you is probably not able to make well working group together so you keep complaining about players who are better at game.

If you have well working group, loot goes to certain people for a reason, to make it more effective. People also have different goals , for someone like Llama it can be xp race, for others in his group it can be just very effective and reliable way to farm in full game. Finding xp shrine is absolutly normal thing in team. You would know if you actualy bothered to play in team too.

Yes some people occasionaly donate some stuff to streamers but thats not like daily. Main goal of streamers is provide content, so while you can farm effective and find stuff, they waste time by making content videos. So if someone gives them something here and there, its just basicly compensation for it.

Any capable player with skill, enough time to play and communication skill to create team can have what top streamers have. Or more.

In fact if you get dedicated team who starts together and do split farming, you will have more than most streamers anyway. Like come on, people have top gear day 1-3, people who are not even streamers.

Why disaster? People were farming chaos runs and letting him just kill the boss, so what lol? If people like to play the game like this, i dont see any issue with it.

yah and people hunt docile lions chained up inside a 24x24 fence in Africa and then hang their head on the wall as a trophy, but no honorable decent hunter respects that guy either.

I don’t agree with that statement.

I think it should have never been the “fastest” way to 99 to do it that way. I respect them for finding the tactic and going through with it. I also liked the “community” aspect of having multiple teams, but I really didn’t like that it was killing 1 mob over and over for the 99 without any real risk.

I even prefer the solo TZ over the “teosruns”, but I still both aren’t the way it should be.

I dont really care about xp race, it was never my thing. I am “loot” guy. Maybe its not fun to watch someone killing premade diablo run, but people play in a way they like. Nobody forced them. Its online mod so leveling will always be about who has better team work. No matter if how they did it looks dumb. Or not fun to watch.

But how else it should be? Online mod is about playing with others, thats the main thing of online mod.

Change the xp so that you get the same xp playing p8 solo as playing p8 with 7 players nearby. So the increased killspeed makes grouping better than running solo in a p8 game. So you can still split for p8 drops, but if you want to maximise XP it’s better to group.

It leaves the leaderboard completely meaningless for nearly everyone except some pro teams. But to answer your question: I don’t give a f***. Even if I had access to a team to push me to the top 10 of a ladder, I wouldn’t do it, because (and u can call me crazy here) I think games are supposed to be fun, and acting like a mindless vegetable 24/7 for a week or more doesnt sound like fun to me.

That’s pretty much the base of any multiplayer game or sport.

Others have fun pushing as fast as they can and achieving their personal goal. But only because you aren’t in a competitive mindset, doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing.

Precisely. It has always been this way. FFS…I remember it. I was in highschool and at the start of each seasons we had teams in 2-3 of the main internet caffes in my hometown and we were competing against each other. We are talking about middle 2000s.

I don’t know why it sounds so strange for so many today, that the members of a team pool up they resources and they push only one individual/account to try to win the race. It was the same before twitch or youtube.

So what? The point here is what requirements a game demands.

  1. I didnt say it’s a bad thing. I was answering to the question of the OP and was talking about my position alone.
  2. I have a quite competitive mindset. provided the challenge is about skill and learning and fun and not only about who can sit longer on a chair without falling asleep or being distracted by reason. But I*m fine if ppl like that kind of competition. I mean the guinness book of records includes tons of things like that.

Completely understandable. I would not do it either. Some people like to play like that, i dont.

I know more about this game than probably ~99.5% of people on the planet. Dumpster tier players wouldn’t require a ‘well working group’ , just mediocre gear and dead weight idling in town would be a blessing.

Their content is literally playing the game. I can’t wrap my head around people who enjoy just watching someone play such an easy and frankly braindead grinding game like this. Watching SC2 streamers is interesting because that game actually requires skill and it’s competitive, but D2 is little more than a point-and-click slot machine simulation and it’s rigged in favor of high player count.

These mental gymnastics you are employing in your effort to white knight streamers and pretend that their horde of simps is not a massive advantage over the general player base are hilarious to witness.

Teams of friends having fun ≠ streamer followed by his sheep (or actually following the sheep, if we take into consideration giving him free items, exp shrines…).

It’s precisely the same. We pick the ‘carry’ of our team and than everybody supports them as best they can do to reach the end goal.
Everything that was found was funneled to the ‘carry’ character.

And talking about streamers…what’s the big deal? They worked their a$$ off to gain that following. People are donating stuff to them voluntarily. I think the detractors for streamers, are just low key envious. It’s harder than you think to get to a critical mass of followers.

I definitely agree with this.

They can have full XP and loot, but only when they are within X number of yards from each other. No split farming and getting exp and loot. No sitting in town and having your buddy get extra exp and loot.
If they’re gonna push MP on everyone as the only mode because it’s more social. then make it social. Having people jump ahead and make portals or farm other areas while some areas are being prepped would cause a loss of exp. That’s how it should have been designed. Actual Multiplayer.

@op : there’s about 6 people that care about being top of ladder, everyone else just plays for fun.

This so much. It is not even funny anymore. I dont think people realise that most of the streamers used to speedrun this game - if you think you better just go and beat them at that and then complain how there is no skill involved in this game (they also used to speedrun it before things like Insight and Spirit were on Single Player so you should have easier time).
As for community feeding them, how is that different than a guilds of old?? good luck to solo player trying to compete with decent guild.
Meanwhile people may acknowledge that there is some skill in this game that they are lacking and get better, or cry on forum.

1 there’s nothing to win

  1. the game needs Ssf

  2. Xp is a boring metric, the game needs more leaderboard metrics, more challenge activities
