So everyone else is ok with this?

every season the people on top of the leaderboards will be the same. if you’re not a content creator you have no chance at all. there is absolutely no way. IM OK WITH THAT. am i the only person that would like to see where i line up against other SOLO players? does anyone at all want a leaderboard for people not pushed by a large community, fed items, exp shrines and more? im not complaining about my current standings on that leaderboard either. i feel that it literally means nothing. those people have not managed to do something remarkable. i watched a guy in 24th place sit there and eat chips and level faster that i ever possibly could. even if i was in first, it wouldnt mean anything. couldnt we at least have a way to filter the thing? see how we are doing against our friends instead of everyone. i really feel like the current system could use improvements.

dont care…and its not just streamers…teams are now a thing…ppl with both skills and knowledge are now coperating unlike in the old days…you would still not beat a dedicated/determined team

vs friend…ya right…most of your friend list wont care to begin with XD…so that be 1 vs 1 most likely

2: you would have to sacrifice spending time with your wife//husband, sacrifice side hobbies, need a strong will go non-stop like a mindless zombie for hours

Being content creator has nothing to do with it.

This constant crying about streamers is hilarious. Yes someone is better than you, get over it.

It would be cool just to shut the cry babies up about “fair” competition…and to see how bad Bravata is.

But since only such a small minority would participate in a SSF ladder and since the regular ladder would easily overshadow them in both speed to 99 and populations, blizz is always going to have a who cares attitude for this request.

You’re overall not wrong, but this idea is false. There isn’t any “being good at D2”, it’s just planning and time investment. Even the toppest end of players actually competing are dealing with RNG to determine who ultimately wins. This isn’t a soulsbourne game where a skilled player can have a level 1, hitless, broken sword clear before anyone else. What it takes is proper preparation and then spending the time to see it through.

Perfectly fine with it, I don’t have 72 hours I can dedicate to playing without sleep, but they do, honestly, I’m jealous and would to do the same, but I have a full time job, and kids.

I think it would be hilarious if they implement solo self found solo play and then all the leaderboards would still be all streamers

Well it’s more than that, it is having 8 speedrunners dedicate themselves to get one of them to level 99 asap with that person using an S tier build. The best team that aims to get everyone to level 99 asap can’t compete with that.

Diablo 2 being an old school game and it is a different beast for people who didn’t play it 20 yrs ago when it was new.

Being an action based game, the more time you put into it, the more you get out of it. You can still do things your way/casually. But complaining about the ladder season is a silly thing.

Could be me, or I simply don’t remember, but I don’t recall anyone really caring back than about who was top of the ladder every season. I remember pushing pandamonium events with friends ‘n such.

I dont think I could care less…
Like, what do they get?
Skins? Unique weapons? High runes? Some special privileges?
Oh wait, they get to see their name on a table in a 24-year-old game.
Well, congratz on that.

Isn’t that one team that hit 99 all non-streamers? You can do it, you simply don’t actually try and play with 20 people to grind out levels. That is on you because you know what it takes but don’t participate.

I would like to see a ladder with trade/drop disabled and /players command enabled. Would never look back. RMT providers/users, P2W Multiboxers, Streamers and their zealots would all be in shambles.

Since RMT bots could make no profit, Blizzard would no longer have an issue with banning bots from the above ladder mode, because all of them would be from personal users and not their mass license farm. RMT botters can stay on standard bottle-net and noobs can keep opening their wallet to them, EVERYBODY WINS!

Streamers would still crush you. Those streamers that you claim are RMT users would still dominate you. Those who were top 99 would still be top 99. Only difference is they’d probably stay on the regular ladder, but if we were all forced to switch over, very little would change in the rankings.

1: All of them would probably play standard bottle-net ladder, because player count and giveaways are bait they use to generate viewer count.
2: Maybe not, because I would have 100% uptime on P8 exp like they do now
3: I did not claim streamers are RMT users, I included them in disparate groups who would not participate in above ladder, which includes RMT users.
4: I don’t care if they do, the point of this ladder is to not have to play with RMT noobs and bots

5:No, this would be a new mode that runs in addition to the current bottlenet ladder. It would be worse if this were the only mode, because then RMT and bots would be more likely to infest it.

Sure you’d have 100% uptime on P8. You’re not willing to no-life the game and it also isn’t your job. If you were willing to no-life the game you’d be able to get a group together. My point wasn’t about forcing everyone to SSF ladder, but that if you played it or any one of the other people who want it were in a SSF ladder against any of the top streamers you would still lose.

Why is it that literally everyone who opposes /players assumes that those who want it can’t form a group… as if posting on a forum, entering a discord, opening twitch, sitting in a public game is some sort of accomplishment. We just recognize it as the wretched, arbitrary chore that it is - and no, performing such a chore does not make one ‘social’.

You’re mistaking my valid points with me being against P8. I’d actually use it in every game after the obvious early game. And you clearly have zero interest in the 99 race as you’re not actually going for first place. Which is fine it is a trivial race, but pretending like you were going to make it when other people are clearly willing to sacrafice for it and you’re not is delusional.

with TZ 99 is not difficult. I’m not ‘pretending’ that I will get 99, I just DGAF about racing there. And I’ve seen these streamers play, if I felt like no-lifing it I could beat many of them with p8.

I am someone who played Diablo II during release and through to LOD past 1.13 like most of the older folks. At this point in my personal life I’d be more into a Single-Mode Enabled ladder system for sure. It would absolutely nix a huge portion of time required to setup a viable team and could easily be done on a weekend to start.

If I could have RL/GM’d my WoW CE team during N’Zoth without all the legwork of needing a full raid team, officers and sifting through all the garbage… even twenty years after release? That SOUNDS GREAT! And not having to hear needless banter, stories or teaching people?

And no, streamers would absolutely be knocked down a peg and your semi-hardcore player even would stand a better chance. This game would change to who stays active the most and how often you are playing [to remember everything on a dime] pretty much which was about the same as it was during the actual release years! Once you knew the knowledge it was just putting pen to paper… still is. RN-Jesus has always been there and at this point doesn’t deserve to be discussed any more, kids today want all that loot and right now! Not the pace this game needs or ever needed.

I used to always HC Ladder run and after the first 24-hours would be randomly getting messages from people: “How?” “Do you work?” and of course I didn’t at like 16 but the game was so straight forward and during peak years every game was full.

Remember we’re discussing someone basically staying up for near three days, with access to MUCH easier gear today then historically with revamped skills and many other bells and whistles here also.

Anyway, I’d support it. It’s incredibly bland to have to juggle remaking characters over the years. Then remaking them in Resurrected. Then questioning why we are adding in all this new garbage and wanting to just simply go back to what just feels better. I only wanted the graphic overhaul personally but expected the worst.

Edit: Oh I forgot. When D2:R was released and I loaded into my first BAAL run then witnessed the “Console Controller Auto-Vacuum” of items faster then the old school pick-up programs. Yeah that was the final nail in the coffin for me and multi-player oriented runs! I mean come on now. [That turned me off before the first Ladder! I never returned till this last week and Single Player]

I don’t like it but streamers are making a living for the time being. People will get bored of watching D2R Ladder race eventually.

Wanna see real dedication at a video game? Some one did a solo Thief run with Final Fantasy on NES. Boy is that one tedious and hard to watch.
