So everyone else is ok with this?

D2 fans will still be watching them 20 years from now probably.

Who cares if they make a living?

The same streamers and hardcore players would still be on top of ladder if everyone was forced to play SSF. Everyone pretending like SSF would be anything special are crazy just a bunch of clowns hoping the good players don’t switch. Not one of you is in the top 1000 right now. Meanwhile no matter what llama or teo is gifted from fans changes nothing. They grind more than you, you’d still lose.

It would mean all the RMT losers would GTFO and that would be special. No one sane who doesn’t play this game as a job cares about ladder ranking, they would be competing against streamers with no other obligations and an army of simps who are willing to idle in town, hunt EXP shrines, and trade gear at extreme deficit if not free for the honor of hearing their screen name mentioned. They would also be competing against armies of bots that run 24/7.

RMT users are so wretched at this game, I have some of them on friends. They are all narcissistic personality types and despite using their wallets to bathe themselves in HR gear they are constantly being slain in mediocre scenarios. SSF ladder sounds boring, but one where it’s impossible to have gear traded or dropped to you would be great, add /players (because no rmt = no objection to players) and its heaven.

I don’t have a problem with streamers reaching the top. The only thing that is sad about the ladder race that it is nearly impossible to find people to team up with to compete.

You can easily find people for the start and rush to hell baal, but it’s nearly impossible to have 8+ guys pushing for 99 afterwards. The few teams that go for it are already set but there is pretty much no competition.

Also I think it’s time to change the xp system, so you no longer get more xp doing p8 solo. Grouping for content should be the best for xp, so the whole team profits from the race.

Congratulations, like every single one of your other posts you have it completely backwards. Grouping makes the game easier , if anything there should be heavy penalties for group exp.

I don’t see an issue, I was playing diablo 2 since it was released, og diablo 2 and diablo 2 LOD. Teams have been a thing for more than 15 years, it’s just now we can stream it.

Every ladder reset on LOD, we would form 8 man teams…this was before twitch, and even before youtube was a thing…It’s always been there.

Another thing is D2 R is very easy to level in compared to LOD, LOD would take a good 1-3 months to hit 99, with the boosted xp and additional content, people can hit 99 in a week on D2R.

To make reaching 99 more competitive, Blizzard would have to make leveling take longer, not sure if they are willing to do such a thing.

Being a content creator definitely helps getting you day 2-3 enigma and infinity. The regular Joe with no connections or friends has no chance of getting those items that early, ergo will always be behind.

That’s not even the end of it, having p8 at your command basically (through your 7 friends) is a gigantic advantage.

You’re pretty smart, zax, I expected you to realize those things.

This is just excuse. Nobody is forcing you to be regular joe with no connection or friends. Make connections and make friends.

Streamers didnt get community over night. It was very hard work to build it over several years for most of them.

And that has nothing to do with in game skill, funnily enough.

Of course it does, most streamers, the bigger ones are skilled at game. Thats why peopke watch them in the first place. D2 require a lot of knowledge to play it effectively. If you are noob with support of some drones, you will still have less than experienced players.

I have watched what some streamers had and I as individual was keeping up with them. Last ladder I had fully equipped char in like week, most streamers didnt have that. And I was even not using jsp.

I dont understand why people think game skill is not important in d2. Its like one of the most important things in d2.

Most people who complain about streamers just use them as excuse for own incompetence.

No, having a stream and garnering viewers has nothing to do with your proficiency at D2. It does however give you a massive advantage on what is laughably referred to as a ‘competitive ladder’.

Having bots ahem viewers boosting you is not really a ‘skill’. But the D2 skill cap is very low.

Or, try to stay with me here, they see a term like ‘competitive’ thrown around and expect something resembling a level playing field. Please don’t get me confused with those people, IDGAF about streamers or the ladder race. Just wanted to tell you that you’re wrong.

Streamers has nothing to do with it, the one who get to 99 first has a well prepeared team of people helping them.

They just happen to be streaming that as well.

I never said it isn’t. I just said streamers have an advantage others don’t which doesn’t rely on game knowledge / skill. Stop being so butthurt about people s****ing on streamers and why do you white knight for them so much anyway?

willing to bet your life on that? if they added SSF and i won HC, you owe me a wookie life debt.

yah it’s pretty scummy, op. Teo and friends realized early they cant win fair and resorted to cheezing the ladder race. All you can do is go to their stream and tell them the truth and watch how much the truth hurts to hear. He absolutely would not have even come close to winning legit. Just like before he started cheezing.

I dont whiteknight anyone. I am just sick of this BS when people use them as excuse all the time. Any player has same opportunity to find friends, comminuty or team idf players who will support each other.

They invested years in building their communities to have that “advantage” you talk about. And yes their skill was part of it as people like to watch streamers who are skilled at the game as they can learn something. So yes their advantage was definitely acquired by having good skill at the game.

Yes, majority of streamers would occupy first places. Noot because they are streamers, but because they skilled at the game and play a lot as for some is streaming their job.

Typical Zax, doubling down on statements so obviously false that even a complete noob would not be fooled. Their advantage is simping viewers creating not only a simulated /players 8 command, but feeding them in all manner of ways. Maybe they are skilled and maybe they are not, skill is not a prerequisite for viewers.

I was spectating “Zasteri” playing HC last season on Twitch. He was #2 on the SCL leaderboard under Llama. He used “loaders” which a lot of people will say is cheating, but the way he played, he demonstrated that he has a lot of game knowledge and was very efficient at playing the game. He knew when he could play “aggressive” and when he had to slow it down.

If there was a Solo Leaderboard, then we could witness great gameplay every season on Twitch in great rivalries between players like Zasteri, Meklab, Llama, Teo, etc.

But of course we’ll never get to witness such great content because Blizzard doesn’t give a rats a** about anything except money from the mainstream casual gamers.

This is just noob excuse, anyone can do 8 man group working together.

Yes anyone can do 8-man groups, it’s not difficult content. Not everyone has an army of simps that will provide an 8-man group the instant you log in without arranging anything, or who are willing to divert all drops to them, who are willing to idle for them, who are willing to shrine hunt for them. You are an extremely dishonest person, Zax. Must hate being so obviously wrong.

you’re missing the point.

it turns the entire event into a mess of trash that isnt even D2 anymore. I mean, wtching Teo cheeze into premade Diablo p8 10% health games so he could one tap for full exp was just a disaster of a moment in D2 history. Literally NOT what D2 is about.

I dont even know about Solo Self Found anymore, because these streamers would find a way to ruin it as well. Just a bunch of money driven cowards who would find any cheat to win instead of testing their skills.

It’s not in the spirit of the game to get handed d2jsp dupes and get premade games and get carried across the finish line.
