Zekvir ? ? Overtuned Sadism

Okay I just started work on this. Zekvir ?? Is much more RNG aggravating than Mage Tower. And I just went and redid the havoc mage tower and ret paladin for the armor sets.

Zekvir ?? The random Bran fearing out of the room and resetting the encounter.
The RNG of where eggs spawn. None of it feels fun or interesting or even feel like I am making progress on learning the fight.

I have gotten into phase 2 twice (keeping in mind just started this today) and am already hating the random ā€œyou failā€ checks between where eggs spawn and the damn door.

Both have a max range at which theyā€™ll go. Keep to the center of the room as much as possible and these things wonā€™t happen

The fix came in mid september, it has actually been months since then. And 609 is a pretty normal ilvl to do it at.

he is not that hard, just make sure to kick his heal and play the rest as intented, get out of the circle, get out of frontal, avoid portals, kill eggs, whats so hard about it

Phase 2 it definitely felt like spittle was coming faster. He said 30 seconds, maybe he meant phase 1? I donā€™t know I wasnā€™t sitting there with a stop watch but it certainly felt to me like it was coming more often than in phase 1. Egg as well felt like it was coming faster.

LOL that is literally what I was saying the whole time. So you were just arguing for the sake of arguing. /smh

That used to happen prior to the September 24th nerfs. Egg spawns you can set your watch to now, and they added the animation to buffer against spell queueing issues.

I think we can all agree the boss would be better if it didnā€™t crit, but effective potion + defensive usage does mitigate against them very effectively. And while egg spawns are random to an extent, if you arenā€™t zipping off to them instantly and instead take into account zekvirā€™s position and a rough idea of what heā€™s going to do next then unless youā€™re really undergeared and need that 100% uptime then you have the ability to deal with whatever he throws at you with good play.

Sometimes you get lucky and donā€™t need to play as well though, but that isnā€™t preventing you from killing it.

Just a ā€œsheā€™s deep breathā€™ing moreā€ from me then. /shrug

Never said it was. Just that catching a bad crit at a bad moment is rng the fight doesnā€™t really need and that higher ilvl would let you eat it more easily. But somehow that was a ā€œradicalā€ opinion.

As a BM hunter hereā€™s what helped me:

-Stay close to him and stay in the middle as much as possible. This helps with positioning because if youā€™re far away when he does the wide brown frontal you will not get out of it if youā€™re in a bad spot.

-Lose the muscle memory to disengage out of bad spots. I died so. many. times due to this. You have to save disengage for the spittle.

-Watch your trigger finger when disengaging the spittle. Wait till itā€™s actually on you. I disengaged to fast so many times and always died as a result.

-Do not run through him to get away from the frontal. Esp that white thin frontal. You will get stuck in the webs underneath him and die. Side step. Quickly.

-You will have to res your pet. This fight is very different as you are the tank not your pet. You have take the hits. Just use turtle to res pet.

-There is a weak aura that tracks brans potion so you donā€™t waste them. Get that! Make sure you have one on you at all times when heā€™s meleeā€™ing you.

-Everyone probably knows this but healer bran is the best bran. Heā€™s still dumb and he stands in bad while telling you not to stand there but heā€™s doing his best lol. I used Amorphous and Idol of the Earthmother. The idol made a huge difference compared the Porcelain.

-You only have a limited time to deal with the add. If your gear is low save cds for it. I didnt have to at 619. A few times the add spawned but with very low hp so I just stunned it and then killed it. If it gets itā€™s cast off you will die.

-I did it at 619 but itā€™s not a gear check. Not even for more hp. You just get one shot anyway and for his melee just keep Branā€™s potions rolling on you. No amount of gear will keep you from getting one shot from most of his mechanics.

It took me over 160 attempts and my kill lasted 7 minutes and 32 seconds. Super embarassing compared to my husbandā€™s 20 attempts on his 597 ret pally. He didnā€™t even do ?. Just straight into ??. (he slept on the couch that night!!)

GL! If I can do it anyone can!

Oh that is some BS. Iā€™d have been pissed if this happened to me.

I used a /tar egg macro (for my mage) to help with finding the eggs but I imagine itā€™s a little more of a pain for melee.

The advice to stay near the middle of the room is good.

This used to be super important, and ofc still helps, but the egg now does have like a 3~ second spawning animation where it flies out of him and materialises before becoming attackable.

Not radical.

Just wrong.

You stated you took like 7.5+ or something million damage. You arent surviving that with more ilvl. You are surviving that by knowing mechanics.

I had many wipes as a melee DPS class before getting the kill in less than 20 pulls on a ranged DPS class. My advice is RUN - BACK - IN after all of Zekvirā€™s abilities.

Zekvir casts Claw Smash cone ability? Dodge, RUN - BACK - IN
Zekvir casts Anglerā€™s Web ability? Side-step, RUN - BACK - IN
Zekvir casts Horrendous Roar? Run out, RUN - BACK - IN

Zervir summons Cocoon? Wait for him to cast next ability, which will be one of the above abilities before proceeding to the Cocoon, then RUN - BACK - IN

And why should you RUN - BACK - IN? Most importantly, because it is impossible to predict which of Zekvirā€™s abilities will come after the summoning of the Cocoon. Also, because the Cocoon is both a distraction and a priority. The counterplay is prioritizing it but not ignoring the other mechanics which are far more detrimental if ignored.

All classes have some way to free themselves from the effects of Enfeebling Spittle. You need to make yourself very familiar with that ability and use it after assessing if Brann helped or not. Brann Flakes can only dispel every other Enfeebling Spittle so be mindful when you use your dispel. You do not want to overlap your ability with his.

Use a macro to interrupt Zekvirā€™s Regenerating Carapace and Blood-Infused Carapace, and ideally one that will allow you to interrupt the heal and not change targets in case you working on the Cocoon add.

Final advice, disable DBM and most if not all boss timers. The only timer worth tracking is Zekvirā€™s heal in P1 and P2. All the other abilities are visual and having the DBM lady talking non-stop and glitching out is a distraction.

Remember RUN - BACK - IN and you will win.

That low key makes sense.

Correct me if Iā€™m wrong but you donā€™t necessarily have to defeat him. You just have to stay alive long enough to get his horn-thingy to drop.

The key to winning is just running around like crazy and staying out of stuff, I think. Try running low delves until he pops up and you can practice there. Load up your gear with speed stats.

Thatā€™s when he confronts you within a delve, he has his own lair which as 2 separate difficulties as well.

Correct, I wasnā€™t sure which they were referring to. Thanks for the clarification.

this is horrid gameplay.

I forgot to put one of the most important things in my earlier post. A macro for interrupting his heal. You donā€™t have to switch from the egg. Just make sure to put him on focus before the fight. Yes I forgot a few times and then wondered why the stupid macro didnā€™t work lol. One of the times he was almost dead.

Also P2 is easier. Youā€™ll have so much practice in P1 that P2 goes quick. Just remember when he fears itā€™s not just a circle you have to get out of but he shoots balls in 3 directions. Theyā€™re easy to avoid if you know theyā€™re coming. A quick side step is all you have to do.
