Are you implying that failing mechanics should incur no punishment at all?
You missed a mechanic, you got punished, but were able to play well enough to recover. If you were lower geared you wouldn’t have been offered that chance to recover at all. All of this sounds very normal in an RPG to me.
I think that determination stacks would be perfect for Z??.
Determination is for fights that are meant to be overcome by anyone regardless of skill level. Zekvir is not.

I could see Determination for ?, but not for ??. Just like we have Determination for LFR but not for higher difficulties. If you want your ugly mount, you gotta prove that you’re better than Zekvir. It’s not supposed to be something that’s attainable by everyone just like how Cutting Edge isn’t supposed to be attainable by everyone.

it’s a scripted fight, and not a race you can easily use their abilities without getting trucked
if you’re worrying about intertia buff during unbound chaos for zek’vir, that’s on you.
only 2 things you need to worry about, egg and interrupting heal
Gratz on downing it but I’ll say the fight becomes much simpler if your running Aldrachi as Havoc at least. I know most don’t like it but the priority dmg combined with better self sustain and bleed damage while dodging mechanics makes it a much easier time imo

More gear will of course make it easier regardless of which you choose, as you’ll need to save less damage for eggs and be able to play more risky with positioning without uptime loss screwing you over.
Take note of how he positions his body in the lead up to every egg spawn, as well as how he aims to dps the eggs from the sides at max range to avoid the slam ever fully covering the egg. At 620 ilvl you should be more than fine, especially with a mandate trinket (Which is ofcourse optional).

I found myself getting dumpstered by auto attacks when I tried ?? a couple weeks ago. Hoping near the end of the patch with the Siren Isle ring and more mythic gear it will become better.
I just don’t understand the want for challenging video games. I like simple and fun. Cheat codes god mode all the above. I don’t get any type of validation from being ‘good’ at a video game. It just means I wasted even more time, usually at the expense of MUCH more important things. But I opened my own business at 27. I put my time and effort into that not WOW. WOW is simply a way to waste time with friends.
That’s fine - WoW has many different difficulties you can play on.
If you just want to slam through easy content you can queue heroics with your friends and never get frustrated.
Or if you want to sweat +15s you can do that, or anything in between.
Only time it’s an issue is when some players want rewards from the hardest difficulty content without actually doing it.
Brann healer potions. You leave them set out until he starts to melee and then you pick up all 3 and you’ll be fine 
Picking them up as soon as they drop when he’s spending the next 5-6 seconds casting kind of wastes the on use portion of the heal, but it does start the ticking of the overly strong HoT to help keep you alive.

People can play what ever difficulty they want, thats literally what I said.
All I said was you shouldn’t expect to get the highest end rewards if you’re not willing to do the highest end content.
If all content gave the same reward there would be no point in the harder difficulties and those game modes would die. Example, T9,10,11 delves.
