At 631? I find this difficult to believe. I 1-shot ? when I was in the 590ish range. Are you talking about ?? because I haven’t attempted it yet, but simply paying attention to mechanics goes a long way.
Yeah, the dps check as far as I know remains the same for Tanks as it does for DPS. You’re more durable and can probably tank some of the death mechanics but the spider becomes a much bigger threat on tank spec.
Yes
Oh yeah. There’s a pretty wide gulf between ? and ??. A lot of the one-shots come out much faster and his autos hit like a truck.
I ran as Wildstalker for the Single Target and the 45 seconds on Frenzy made life stupid lol especially if I wasn’t getting any Apex procs, or getting Vines to proc on the egg. Not that I couldn’t manage doing 550k dps sustained for the duration of the egg…but still, felt off only getting every other egg with Frenzy.
And using Adaptive Swarm…pfft, I think i’m pretty well done with for any fight nowadays
I had abandoned Wildstalker pretty early on in favor of Claw’s better handling of his autos + access to Frenzied Regen. The Ravage being a good answer to the eggs was just a nice cherry on top.
Friend, if you happened to record that please link me the video I’ve been trying as both Venge and Havoc to no avail. I think my best pull was around 40%. Albeit I haven’t pulled as many times as you. I just feel like I’ve been having better luck against him as Havoc, even though I delve strictly as Venge.
So out of 160 attempts, 110 were because of poor choices. And it really only took you about 50.
So they should only play a certain way, and if they don’t they get punished?
If you want to down challenging content, I am ok with it requiring a base line understanding of how to play your character and the fight in question.
I am ok with everything not being so trivial you can beat it blindfolded.
This whole thread is talking about the ?? difficulty besides someone randomly bringing up the first difficulty here and there.
YES. When you ask for high tier’d level of difficulty, YES. You SHOULD have to adapt to the encounter and play decently well in order to succeed. You wanted hard content. You got it. That’s what hard content is. If you could faceroll it people like the op would just keep complaining that the world questers have nothing to strive for.
I mean, it depends what you mean by that. Every class has talents that are better or worse in certain scenarios. You absolutely should tailor your kit to whatever fight you’re trying to do. That’s the biggest reason why the talent trees are laid out the way they are and why you can freely swap talents whenever you wish.
So yes, if you pick ill-suited talents you’ll be punished with a harder time. But you can fix that whenever you want. Use those critical thinking skills and class knowledge to figure out where you should move points around based on what parts of the fight you’re struggling with. That’s the core progression loop for any hard content in WoW, be it dungeon, raid, Mage Tower, or Zekvir.
What’s next? They’ll be required to turn their monitor on?
So once I worked tech support for a variety of colleges. I would take incomming calls from students and faculty on campus.
Once a student called me from a computer lab. Stating the computers were not working in the lab. She could hear them doing stuff, but nothing was being displayed on the screen.
I had to guide her, over the phone, to the power button on the monitor.
Anyways. My not-related-to-the-topic story of the day.
My monitors always obey me because they know I’m not afraid to smack them.
The people that only use a single talent layout definitely should be punished. Different encounters require different abilities/strategies.
Not changing anything based on said encounters will and does lead to punishing play. See OP
Yes it should be harder if you have the wrong talent but it should not be impossible. That’s more my thinking. If you use the right talents it should take you 50 tries if you use the wrong talents maybe 100. Heck I have. Ilvl 617 port warrior and haven’t beat zekvir ? Yet. That blasted fear radius gets me everytime. And he spams it constantly
Quite a lot of my attempts were very short lived,
this encounter is unforgiving.
If it was harder but doable without an interrupt or snarebreak, those mechanics would need to be non-meaningful. If you play poorly enough, there needs to be a point at which you aren’t successful or it isn’t challenging.
I will add that I think WoW is a lot more fun this way. See me and Grizzle’s earlier conversation about Wildstalker vs. Druid of the Claw for Zekvir. I use both hero talent sets a lot, but I really enjoy the process of weighing the pros and cons of Wildstalker vs. Claw for Zekvir specifically. It’s fun to tweak things and try new strategies! And every time a new challenging fight comes out, I get to do it again! My build is never “solved.”
Blizzard saying that we’re getting a new Zekvir-type fight every season for Delves is possibly the best Christmas present they could have given me.
Heroic Leap
Or just faster reaction time. As long as you move as soon as the visual pops up, you can make it out of the fear circle.
Also, Amorphous curio. Try to get the speed boost one. Makes it so much easier if you don’t need the damage increase.
WOW is RPG,
in RPG you beat something by overgearing.
Jumping satanic flaming loops while malding is different genre.
Different games.
Please.
Could we get all of that out of WOW.
