People be hating. I’ve never had to cast a dispel before, so… I have nothing to say on that front! I use minimal addons myself. I run a damage meter, player, weak aura for roll the bones and that’s it really. I didn’t use any boss mods for HEY INTERRUPT THIS OR THAT. HEY STEP OUT!
For the hundredth time, it’s not. It’s a skills check (thus instant death) and not a DPS check.
Rets / DHs / Ele Shamans / BM Hunter / SPriest are cheat modes lol
They’re not catering to anyone as it’s not required. It’s simply there for a bonus. You don’t even get anything “special” for defeating the hard mode. Most of the goodies come from the easy mode
Don’t you know you’re not allowed to explore an already figured out game?
In all seriousness, thanks for the personal insight. You eventually got it so grats. Sorry it was such a long ride. That’s part of the fun (For masochists lol).
I also don’t think that an unwillingness to use third party sites is a good reason to spend so many pulls with subpar talents. You can see what you’re dying to and you can read what your talents do, you can scooch some points around whenever you want to tailor to the fight. Sure you might not get everything optimal, but you can see when you want things like more defensives or more movement or a better way to handle Spittle.
In fact I’d say depending on your spec that level of inspection may even be required. Not every spec has (good) ready-made talent guides on Zekvir easily available.
DB will remove it, and so will the pvp trinket.
And here I thought Feral had an unusually well-suited toolkit to Zekvir. But you’re a Feral player and it didn’t make your list of cheaters!
I will convert more people to the Church of Feral one day. Shapeshifting to remove snares and gain tank-level health and armor continues to be really good in some circumstances. I remember some of my guild mates getting real jealous of me during that one boss in Stormwind haunted visions in BFA.
I think once you do this WA, there will be 400 comments thread on forum to discuss how low you have descended.
Eh, probably not. Making a WA to track a debuff is pretty common at mid-level play and up. I have a template saved for just that purpose since it’s one of my more frequent uses of WA. That and changing the audio-cue in DBM for mechanics I keep forgetting to an air raid siren.
UI tweaks are a bit of an art. I could spend an entire thread on the good and bad ways to do so. But just making a WA for a debuff is a pretty straightforward use-case. I think the feedback you’re getting with regards to it is more about your hyperbole of taking up half the screen than it is about using the WA at all. Especially for a debuff with a very obvious tell like the slow.
None of the Souls games have a difficulty option lmao.
I don’t mind going to a third party site to look up talents. I probably will if I get serious about beating it.
It is however a sign of lazy and poor game design when you have to rely on third party sites and addons to make your content presentable.
Also your health dropping like a brick
You mean open hate with foaming a the mouth.
If that helps you sleep at night sure. Though I think that you’ll find that you can sometimes extract useful information from venomous responses while letting the toxic parts slide off your back. WoW threads tend to reflect back what you give them regardless of the topic. I think your attitude plays some part in the responses you get.
I actually don’t think that’s the case with Zekvir. I’ve certainly seen some fights where I think the presentation is unclear but I think Zekvir is actually pretty good about mechanic communication.
I didn’t use a WA to track the Spittle debuff, I just shapeshifted every time he cast it. The mechanic does have a cast bar after all.
You arent.
Just have a basic understanding of your class and mechanics.
This. The fight is easy to follow.
I just meant in general. This is an age old WoW problem.
And not only that, but there’s not much punishment for wiping. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with spending a few probing pulls just learning mechanics. I’ve done a few fights blind that way. Guides help but they’re not strictly necessary.
Way back in Vanilla I tried to convince my progression raiding guild that the best way to learn to consistently down new bosses was focusing on keeping everyone alive for as long as possible, dps be damned, even in dps check fights like Vaelastrasz. Not many listened. (We still did well, but we could have done so much weller.)
I liked consistently being top 3 on dps on the ol’ meter but I liked it better when the boss went down with only one or two rezzes needed.
Same thing applies now, especially to ‘challenging’ solo content like Zekvir or Mage Tower. You’re not gonna brute force hail mary something with insta-gib mechanics.
What class would you consider is hardest to easiest for Z??
