This fight gave me anxiety last night. Heart wrenching. In 20 attempts I got him to 5% twice. And 0% (literally) once. The 5% would’ve been a kill but my computer died (GG@me).

Finally got him. Took about 11 more tries. Several of which were 5-10% but dumb stuff happens. Whew… so glad that’s over.

Did it on my 631 evoker, only way to dispel spittle is my biggest damage cd. I used mad queens mandate for the add that spawned.
Brann is useless, had probably 20 wipes where he just wouldn’t dispel

You’re just wrong. The only “RNG” is where the eggs spawn and I guess you can argue if you or Brann is the smash target…but you overcome with superior tactics and execution.
Zekky should always be kept in the middle and if an egg spawns and a smash is available, you should NOT be running towards the egg but around/behind to bait the smash where THEN you race towards the egg. As melee, you can stand at your max hit range with zekky at your back to bait fear circles where you then run to the wall to outrange it.
Zekky is an execution fight and not an RNG fest. Letting yourself be deluded into thinking otherwise is just going to hold you back. Treat every death like you were a left of bell curve and deserved it and what you could’ve/should’ve done differently and that’ll get you farther. Believing outcomes are due to RNG vs your own (in)competence is what matters.

running around getting stuck in the badly designed room on stairs, because egg spawned there, thinking not to catch satanic one shot aoe
I started trying as a healer, and I need Brann’s DPS to kill the egg. Unfortunately sometimes he gets feared. I’m not sure if there’s some nuance to controlling his positioning, but I haven’t really noticed… and that seems like an awful lot to juggle. Even if I dispel him immediately, he won’t necessarily resume damage quickly. It seems like RNG to me, but I’ve only done a handful of attempts so maybe it’s something I can figure out.

If there is anything I’d think is worse than doing Zekky as a tank (especially one of if not the worst DPS tanks in DK) it would be doing Zekky hardmode as a healer…
You can’t control Brann and his positioning or his target. You still need considerable burst DPS for the eggs. You have no interrupt? (except I have to think you do otherwise the fight would be impossible since Brann as DPS doesn’t interrupt the heal either).
In P2, Brann is going to be dead a fair bit since he seems to take obscene damage from the mechanics. Pretty sure it is intended to make the player plan strats around that.
But hey if you enjoy the challenge then good luck with it.
Could use PVP trinket for another way.
Anyone else think you should get credit towards a myth track item in the vault if you beat Zekvir (??) ? Seems like he is deserving of one vault slot lol.

Nah , you’re just bad. i finished it week 2 with undergeared characer. u just gotta do the mechanic. that’s why its challenging. its not for everyone.

Tbh, as loathe as I am to admit it, I partially agree with you. There’s not much genuine challenge in it. I didn’t beat it and unless they’ve added some new reward, I don’t really intend to.
It was a bit of an eyeroll for me. Doable, but unnecessarily tedious.

That was my experience doing ? on my Hunter. If I failed on a try it was because I missed one mechanic and that left me in a bad state for the next mechanic, and things snowballed. I mean, sometimes you can pull out of a mistake, and RNG can help that – I’m pretty sure I made at least one mistake on the attempt when I took Zek down on ? – but if you never make the mistake in the first place, then you don’t have to fight back from it.
I’m pretty sure I’d like it on a void elf toon!
