There is only a select handful of rares that drop like collectables - so why would I be farming them now and not when its past content?

Rare farming is so boring. I can’t bring myself to spend my free time doing that stuff.

People weren’t doing ZC before this event started. It died the day they nerfed Elite Rare reward drops to a minimum of 3.5 days each week. People will kill on Tuesday after maintenance and again on Friday evening if that sub-zone happens to have world quests.

Why go to the zone if the rare that drops the item you want won’t spawn. Why go after the first kill after they reset?

Because they have too much health. If their health is reasonable, it wouldn’t take you forever to kill a rare.

And it would still be the same problem.

Because the rares take too long to kill, by the time you finish killing the one you have and make your way to the next one there is a chance it will already be dead, but if they had less health sure you would kill your rare faster, but it would also mean the other rares die faster.

They need to both reduce the rare health and spawn time so you don’t have to play the waiting game and the “Is it worth it?” game. If the rares spawned faster and were easier to kill by everyone, more people would do it, currently for the ‘reward’ you get it’s just not worth it.

Put reputation for the new faction on the rares at least, the place barely give you any, that might incentive some people to get in there. Having said that the place is just not friendly for people that want to do the content on their own since theres no one in there that can assist you in the first place. On the realm that i play most of the time theres around 12 elites up.

Endgame rare farm zones suck. Blizzard needs to do something new. I wish they’d do something more like Suramar, and less like ZC.

My guess is Blizz decided they didn’t like casuals farming elites for drake crests instead of running M+, so they put a stop to it. Never mind that was 80% of the activity in ZC.

highly doubt they were farming rares for the drake crests with a single crest per kill when a M+7 nets you 12 if you time it and is about the same difficulty to clear.

100% people were. How do I know? I was in that group. Lots and lots of casuals would do anything to avoid M+ but are happy to do a long grind to get modest gear upgrades. It was actually quite fun to hop in world from time to time and just fly around killing elites in large packs, getting drake crests, mount mods, etc and as a side effect your time also gets you 424 gear.

I have no doubt M+ players just shake their heads in wonder that this was going on, but bloody casuals are out there and they’re happy to have some fun mindless killing. Blizzard put a stop to that. And now they wonder why the entire zone has become a hollow lifeless and empty hole in the ground.

I get the fun as a horde player to group with Frostmourne Alliance, you tell me, why would I go warmode with those players?
