ZC is a dead zone, thanks Blizzard

Yes but the mount rares were swarmed before the change, it would never be up for even 5 minutes after spawn every spawn through all hours the mount dropper dies in moments. So I get his point even if I don’t kill them either

I tried the zone and it’s really quite dead. I have no idea who thought adding those massive health rares would be a good idea when there are no players around doing them in the first place.

Why don’t they just tune the content for the characters the rewards are designed for?

Only alts need Drake crests, so maybe make the rares killable by cloth DPS in greens instead of requiring an epic equipped tank, or a turbo epic equipped Ret Paladin or BM Hunter? And how about extending this to the Forbidden Abandoned Reach, too?

How about making Researchers Under Fire doable with like… three people instead of barely getting 12/12 with a full 40-man raid that pre-lusts to prevent anyone from popping it before stage 9?

How about making the world boss actually drop loot :triumph:

Even BEFORE these changes, can you imagine being on a server like mine that all the rares are were up every single day at almost every given time, minus HYPER-SPECIFIC times of the day when most people are at work or other obligations?

I didn’t even know Karokta dropped a mount because the damn thing was always up! There was a week or so of people going after the Underlight Queen because of the pet and the odd comment about wanting it to sell in General chat but not a single person until these changes were made commented so much as a passing-by remark.

I don’t think that having the rares award basically zero niffen rep helps either. There is literally no point in killing them other than flightstones or zone mog. Which don’t get me wrong… the zone mog is amazing (better than my DH’s tier set IMO) but it’s not worth grinding on its own to me. Other than that I think Brewa hit the nail on the head. Sitting there for ten minutes killing something isn’t fun. We didn’t like it on Sylvanas as a raid boss why would we like it for an open world rare?

5 minutes is more than enough time for you to get there.

How long do you need?

Are you “busy” shopping in Loamm, or something?

Did it ever occur to you that during those 5 minutes, other people are doing the work of whittling the rare’s enormous health pool down while you go and do something else?

Im not in that zone because nothing benefits me for the content im wanting to do. It was good before season 2 started, but quickly grew past it.

It could also be because it’s a holiday weekend (Memorial Day) and the Diablo 4 crossover event is happening and people are farming treasure goblins.

Limited availability mount/pet/cosmetics tend to get attention over rares that they can farm normally.

I know when I go there the place is absolutely dead. No one wants to kill rares or so much of anything. For it being a new zone and a main feature of a patch, it’s a bust.

The first week of ZC I thought was cool, now I find it a stupid addition to this game and boring. Like you said it is a dead zone and not much going on down there.

If you are doing nothing sure, but if you are mid event or killing another rare, or like what happened to me earlier and got stuck in combat while I walked from the south of the zone to the north and was still in combat, yeh, 5 minutes is not enough.

Nah it started dying before they even made the change to killing rares once per 4 days, and it got worse after, and that was before all this.

The answer then is quicker respawn timers.
You can only kill them once every 5 days now.
Why not give them way less health and spawn every 5 minutes

No no lol what I was saying is, before the changes people would camp it and it would die in 5 minutes, 5 minutes as in that’s how many people are there since it’s so popular. Since the changes though I’ve seen him stay up for a long time which is shocking. So what I’m saying is, I also see a shift in player behavior since these changes and even the most popular rare spawn has a lot less people interested. Maybe you’ll get me this time. I’m just agreeing with him that there’s a change in behavior, no big deal

My favorite line was “Farming rares is not the main content of the zone”

Then what is? What exactly is there to do in the zone besides rares? It’s the same uninspiring unimaginative copy paste zone that you’ve added into every patch sine Timeless Isle. It’s not exciting or fun anymore. It’s the same exact formula and people are bored with it. Changing it to make rares once every multiple days instead of daily reset does not fix that issue. The abysmal drop rates don’t help either. People don’t want to kill a rare 200+ times to see something cool drop.

Maybe sharding is broken and giving everyone their own lil slice of ZC. Like it always seems to do for my alts vs my main that always sees ppl around and doing rares.

Or they could be all busy playing a fun game like Zelda.

Not everyone likes doing this

Even if people do M+ and raids, there is still a chance to find items in ZC that can be upgraded to 424, and even that rare item that can be upgraded to 437.

And I am at that point where I need to go down there to add more loot chances to try and get a better trinket and wrist piece, my main has a 411 trinket and wrist from S1, if I can snag a 424 version than it would be an upgrade.

But to even get the chance at loot I need a group.

That’s not the point that I’m making.

I hope they don’t wrongfully attribute it to not locking the progression system to the new zone. It existing everywhere in the expansion is the best thing they’ve done in some time.

But like others said, they forgot to provide reasons for the rares and elites to be challenging for those that it was designed for.

A lot of people find the amount of dedication required to stick with farming a mount until they get it to be the sort of “hard” that they simply cannot do. They look down their nose at people who actually have the dedication to do what it takes to get that mount and whine that everything should be handed to them on the first kill because they’re who they are, while the people who are actually out earning it now don’t deserve it and should get no rewards in the game whatever, regardless of what they do or how much they do it.

Reality is you’re too lazy to do those things, but you like to think of yourself as a superstar. That’s why you post on an untraceable classic character you were too lazy to level up and play at max.
