Nobody doing elite quests. Nobody killing the world boss. This entire zone seems like a big waste of development resources.
The zone is pointless when you have M+ and raiding giving a ton of crests and flightstones. No point.
Like I said in another post, almost as if designed by an intern who learned the basics of zone design and nothing else. Worst zone in a while.
The 10.0 elite content barely managed to sustain critical mass and that was because most of it could be poked away at solo.
10.0.7 was sounding alarm bells with the painful-to-solo rares that the moment the population dropped below critical mass, it was dead content.
10.1 seems to have doubled down on what seems to me to be fundamental misread of the world content audience. (with the disclaimer that I’m still spending a lot of time there gathering and trying to impress the niffan with world quests, but the zone feels dead to me too)
Group finder helps.

( I get that is a perfectly reasonable “solution” to underpopulation … but if it’s elite content that you have to group for then why bother putting it in the world in the first place? Isn’t that what dungeons are for? )
Huh? Players asked for this. These forums have raged about chores and forced content for 3 xpacs.
Now you are mad that there is no reason to do it? Is this a “you think you do” moment?
Nazjatar or mechagon it is certainly not. I’m a bit disappointed, I’ve been unsubbed about half of the expansion and I came back for 10.1. I’m not honestly feeling it but I’m not quite ready to give up either.
I raid and M+, I also like to do open world content when Im done M+ for the night or just wanna chill, but this ain’t it. They messed up severely. I want emmisaries back, 4 WQs in a zone for gold. that kept me busy on alts a lot.

Then sit there on a dead server lamenting over the fact the rares are safe from you. Shadow Council is dead as well, but there is always a group listed to join. Or if you are feeling brave, create a group with “all up” in the title and see how fast it fills.
Plus, there is something neat about watching 20+ dragon riders swooping in on a mob.
But, sure, you can just sit there and pout. That’s also an option.
This goes to prove a failure in designing world content that is intrinsically engaging. If, the moment there’s no extrinsic reward, brand new content dies, it means it is not fun and someone dropped the ball hard at remembering they’re making a game.
Blizzard, wake up and design fun gameplay for your overworld. Not busywork. And not freakin’ carrots on sticks. An actual game one can play no matter if there’s a reward or not.
Agreed wholeheartedly. I would love visions back. Or pvp world quests/ assaults. But to many people don’t want that. If the open world provides anything more than cosmetics or 50g quests they complain.
I like the look and feel of the zone but it’s not without its problems. My own 2 copper’s worth of feedback…
There’s not a lot to do with Whelping Crests after about 2 hours of killing stuff but they take up inv space. Currency issue vs bag space is known so I’ll leave it there.
There are some pretty big mistakes, such as Barter Bricks being better than Barter Boulders despite Boulders requiring a rep requirement (and how it automatically changes all vendors once you reach a certain level of renown). So you’re actually better off having less renown with Niffem than more unless you’re going to grind to 20.
World boss dragons up above are simpler to do for the same reward. The ZC Djaradin elites are a pain in the rear, for example that one primalist that throws down the 4 invincibility totems. Nobody wants to deal with that.
It was a mistake to have so many tiers of gear, Adventurer level and Explorer level gear should be amalgamated. Crests to a certain level should be able to be traded in 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 to upgrade to the next level. I would cap it at Wyrm level and beyond that they continue with the same plan as what’s currently in place so as to not dilute the rewards of high(er) level mythics and raid content.
Niffem are sort of annoying, especially the ones that scream “buddy system don’t wander off alone”.
The only reason to go there is for people who are hard up on flight stones or
I’m there for the rep. That’s about it. I don’t find the rest useful or particularly interesting. Except snail races… those are strangely addicting…
After last week’s unrewarding experience, I’m not bothering with that again.
The world boss is being killed regularly if you check the group finder. If I waited around for it to be killed on my server, I would never get it done.
It’s an MMO. All MMO worlds are engaging. For the first, maybe the second play through. Then it all becomes busy work. It will always be that way. Rewards are finite. Why do you think things are locked behind renown/rep/timegates.
Every MMO does this.
Barely any groups doing activities in the cavern. Lucky to find one person per elite quest.
Its a nice enough zone but they forgot to put content in it.
Im honestly confused as to what their intent for the zone, and the game as a whole, is at this point.
If they want the open world to just be filler fluff in their lobby game, then the game is going in a direction that i cannot stand by and will have to unsub.
I pray that 10.1 was just a blip and this isnt what they think a good game looks like.
Why? Because raiders, keystone players and pvpers aren’t forced to do it for a rep or something?
-The moles city is kinda cool but lacks immersion, u cant enter any house besides the main building, wich’s very simple.
-There are alot of pvp bugs with the guards there too, making Wpvp a nightmare when it should be fun.
-Rares dont drop anything usefull for pvp players so why kill them? (compare with Zeret Morthis for example).
-WQs are cool but they’re only WQs.
-The zone could be better designed, theres no mushroom forests, small caves, diferente environments and interesting personality NPCs…
-The fire citadel and lava zones cover almost 35% of the new map and they’re EXACTLY the same we are used to in the black dragons citadel… BORING
-Nazjatar, Mechagon and Zeret Morthis are WAY, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more interesting and fun than the new map.
