I don’t know man, I love the way Lightforged Draenei look in their heritage armor. So sick especially combined with some of the weapons, like Reinhardt’s hammer artifact skin. If they could dual wield fist weapons they’d be a friggin Protoss Zealot. Can you be more Paladin than that?!
Lol literally entire argument was slain within the first 20 posts but okay.
In terms of lore, real lore not just your cutscene, zandalari Paladins makes more sense then tauren to be Frank. And actually has established lore long before it. No one cares that you don’t like it or try to casually dismiss it based on your own bias.
But in reality the lore of the light has been expanded to the point who COULDN’T be a paladin? We had a friggin light demon XD
At least humans haven’t forgotten how to reproduce. I guess for the trolls, the tusks get in the way.
I agree with the initial sentiment of the thread, seeing a troll paladin i was WTF and I was playing my tauren druid at the time.
And after reading this thread I can see its possible for the exception to a rule that shamistic races like trolls and tauren could have a paladin in their ranks as more of a champion or prelate as some said.
When someone says Paladin to me, I alway think its refering to a code of ethics that being apart of the hoarde to me indicates that should not be part of, this is why it was intinally only an alliance thing.
But when they allowed Blood Elves to be paladins and Draenei to be shamans, they might as well just gave up on the whole then to avoid crap like this now.
You sound very species-ist
Sounds like you just don’t know anything about lore then. They’ve shown very clearly especially the last two expansions how the light isnt a morality. Not to mention scarlet crusade is literally trying to commit genocide since vanilla but yeah let’s pretend Draenei, beings who literally walked with the naaru (literal beings of light) and blood elf’s dont make sense. Bit humans committing genocide? Praise the light brother!
Expand your mind. That nonsense notion of it being an alliance is nothing but pointless fanfiction. Not trying to be mean either, it’s just literally everything you’re saying is factually wrong in the warcraft universe.
Agreed, worst paladin addition ever.
Wow did not know there was so much hate for Zandalari… as I’m leveling this character right now.
It makes me like my new character even more.
If you could /spit on me if you see me in game, that would be ideal.
You are half right. Paladin was the term used by the Alliance to refer to the knights of the Silver Hand, who were created to fight the Horde after the First War. Paladin is definitely an Alliance term and class.
Refering to sun druids, prelates, etc as Paladins in game was just a gameplay thing. At the end of Wrath, back when they still gave a damn about lore, they even had little interactions between NPCs in Thunderbluff to explain a new type of druidism was being considered, those who would follow An’she, the other eye of the Earthmother, as opposed to current druids who followed Mu’sha.
The idea that anyone is called paladin if their hands glow yellow is a new thing introduced in Legion and never had any basis in lore. Multiple races who use the light have had their own names in their own cultures; Vindicators, Prelates, Sunwalkers. Paladin is the Alliance one.
This thread makes me want to race/faction change my human paladin
I get spit on for wielding de Ashbringer! Welcome to da fold bruddah. We’ll show dem sad liddle humans how ya ‘really’ wield an undead killin sword, as we do everyting dey do, a hundred times bettah!
Draenei being shamans never made sense, I always viewed shamans as being the cultural leaders of a tribe, animalistic in nature, nomadic with their tribe, not a race of light blessed eredar, dwarf was a more logical choice for shaman and the only alliance race that should be able to be a paladin and a shaman. I do not think horde should have a race that can be both, lore wise it doesn’t fit. Same goes for one race being able to be a paladin and a druid, the two do not go together and would not in any society.
It’s just a “class design name” it’s not really what they are. At the sametime you can see paladin as a Devoted religious warrior.
The holy light.
The sun.
The loa.
Yeah I am pretty sad that Zandalari can’t be warlocks. We can’t always get what we want though
Personally, I never thought Trolls or Tauren should have been made paladins. I find this quite ridiculous. If that’s how it’s going to be, I would like to see a BE druid/shaman. “it’s only fair”.
And I think we can all agree that a druid/shaman BE would be quite silly.
Do we? What I think is silly is the restrictions. In lore, we have seen that things can be taught (all of the cata combos added, elves teaching humans magic). Why are some things not teachable to certain races? It’s also quite dumb that a race can be both a warrior, and a priest, but not a warrior priest.
Then like I said, I want a shaman/Druid BE then.
The point is, it’s what makes each race special and why you choose different races. Otherwise, why on earth have different races if they are all capable of the same classes? Uniqueness is a good thing.
Different racial abilities, not everyone likes the same races, you are a person that likes keeping a diverse character screen, lost a bet, won a bet, proving a point, RP, etc. I also confirmed I don’t care about BE druids/shaman by saying all restrictions are dumb. Not sure why you brought that up.
If uniqueness is good, then why are more options bad? You’re telling me it’s more unique to be a BE, or a human paladin, than it would to be an orc, or a gnome?
I suppose I should have under my comment about shamans/druids said /sarcasm, but I didn’t, so there we have it, clarified.
I personally don’t want BE shamans/druids, I think that’s a dumb idea as well.
options for all races to have all classes are bad. I think that to give BE’s the ability to be a druid cheapens the whole idea that Taurens, Orcs and Trolls have a kinship to the land and earth whereas BE’s power comes from the arcane/light/sunwell.
So again, to give all races all classes cheapens the idea in my mind that each race has a special ability/class that others don’t. And I personally like it that way. Otherwise, make us all human and split us into different factions…that=boring, and so it is with giving all classes to all races…boring.
That’s fine, opinions are welcome. Saying make us all humans of two factions is very belittling to my arguement. There is nothing saying everyone is going to choose the same race given the choice. GW2, FF14, and ESO all have a very diverse range of race/class combos, and they all have open race/class combos.
Either way, I’m not advocating that subject. I only wanted to point out no one speaks for anyone else, and statements like “we all,” and “everyone,” on subjective matters are always going to be incorrect, because there is always someone not in agreement.
