Zandalari trolls are a vile, hideous and corrupt race with an affinity for all sorts of dark magics, especially necromancy. There may be as many undead Zandalari as living. The Zandalari have no affinity whatsoever towards the light and have shown no interest in learning its ways.
Now we are expected to believe that this abominable race can be warriors of the light?
I understand being bothered, and honestly it’s just good we’re finally getting another Paladin option. But there were Zandalari Freethinker/Paladin esque characters here and there, we saw the Prelates in Throne of Thunder so they’ve most likely been planning on expanding on them for a while but they’ve never had a spot to really get in until now.
By that logic you shouldn’t be allowed to be a Paladin because Humans can be Warlocks and Shadow Priests.
Let’s not force everyone of a race into one box, mk? Zandalari Paladins have been in the lore since vanilla…
And I’m not sure where you’re getting this necromancy crap, the Zandalari generally don’t practice necromancy (other than a few cases of splinter factions) because one of the Loa they serve (Bwomsamdi) despises undeath.
Oh man, I’m really gonna enjoy the salt over Zandalari paladins. Let me know before you or your friends make another thread like this so I can grab some popcorn and watch you whine about something that’s been in lore for years.
Horde couldn’t be paladins in vanilla. To be honest I wish it where still that way. Because all it has been since their addition is a sloppy and poorly written story to add more to there list of choices. But to the player’s that are for more horde paladins, could care less about story and more about how they will look in their T-mog.
This is irrelevant, the Zandalari weren’t part of the Horde back then, they were in the lore back then, they just weren’t in the Horde. You not liking that is a you problem, not a problem with the game, it’s not Blizzard’s fault that you ignored that part of the story all these years.
Most are salty for a good reason. As a bad story to justify this hot mess is aggravating, which lead many to bulk at their addition. Make it a story that at least halfway makes since and people would be more accepting. As most who play paladins do so for the class fantasy.
Good grief. A bad story is a bad story even if you think it was in vanilla. Show all the paladin quests in vanilla that had hunt down a troll to further training in the Holy Light. A mob with no back story isn’t lore.
Shows how little you know… They weren’t mobs, they were spoken about in the quests to get the Paladin armor set from ZG, that Paladin set was quite literally Zandalari Paladin gear.
A paladin tier set from vanilla is your argument that you are using to justify troll paladins being in the game. Good grief. Color me shock that a troll would be the quest giver inside of ZG. And yes let me be more specific an NPC with no lore that’s give you a quest isn’t a good enough story in my opinion to justify the addition of troll paladins. Oh and btw the trolls of ZG loa worship wasn’t rezan.
Did you read what he wrote? He’s not talking about the armor set, he’s referencing the text in the quests to get the armor set. The quests talk about an order of Zandalari paladins who stood against Hakkar years prior. They’ve been established in lore since vanilla whether you like it or not.
First quest- You are a heathen. Heathens have a place in the tribe. Heathens are freethinkers of Zandalar. Freethinkers do not fear oppression. Freethinkers die for what they believe in. We know you would die for what you believe in. This earns our acknowledgement. This earns you a chance to prove yourself further.
We must have the Paragons of Power. Go to Zul’Gurub. Kill the minions of Hakkar. Return when you have what I seek. Claim the first battle gear of a Zandalar freethinker.
Go.
Second quest- Your beliefs are alien to us, heathen. Ancient Zandalar were once branded as heretics. This was when the Gurubashi Empire was strong. Heathens dared to challenge the priest of Hakkar. Heathens then were hunted and killed as vermin. Those heathens never wavered in their fight against the Blood God. We honor the price they paid. They are the freethinkers.
Destroy the minions of Hakkar in Zul’Gurub. Bring me the Paragons of Power I seek. Success will be greatly rewarded.
Go.
Third quest- You must be revered amongst us to possess such a breastplate. Go to Zul’Gurub. Take the Paragons of Power I need. Take the Paragons most painfully from the fools inside. Bring them to me. Prove your worth as a freethinker once and for all.
Fourth quest- The King has acknowledged your existence, Paladin. You are the first of your kind to be accepted by Rastakhan as a true ally of Zandalar.
You will be rewarded greatly for your efforts. Present your brand and I shall apply the final amplification.
It has been a minute since I did these quests. But sure enough I was right. Now as you can see the NPC at no time is referring to himself as a paladin or a light follower. In fact he calls your beliefs foreign to him and his tribe.
His name is Jin’rokh the Breaker and though I was wrong about him being zandalari( sorry it’s been a minute since I’ve done the quest.) As you can see from my post on the quest text. At no time is he referring to himself, in fact he calls the paladins belief foreign to him. You should try to be less of a jerk on the forums and understand that a good story behind a major change can make people more accepting to changes in a story they enjoy. Expressional when in regards to class fantasy
You just build your whole argument on this NPC being proof that Zandi paladins were in vanilla.
Now your just grasping at strolls. BE and human were allies, so no they wouldn’t. Tauren back story is just as dumb as the soon to be trolls. But that sun SO bright. Super lame.
