I agree re trolls but i think the loss of rastakhan, rezan, and zul was a bridge too far.

This is exactly what I was talking about in terms of night elf fans and the issue with their lore is they are unable to accept anything new and demand blizzard that they do this for the story thus limiting the creative freedom. I even suspect blizzard only focused on night elves after the burning of teldrassil because they were forced too. Granted even blizzard didn’t want to write burning of teldrassil.

Oh my god, PLEASE. I’ve wanted to be a Revantusk since Classic. It’s honestly infuriating how we got a Farraki skin tone before a Forest Troll one somehow. (Even though I love being a Farraki, NGL.)

Despite BfA being hot garbage narrative wise, Zandalar was incredible. I go to Dazar’alor regularly just to listen to the bombastic music there and just roam around, it really is a shame we got introduced to some of the coolest cities/zones in one of the worst expansions. Azshara was completely wasted as well, but that’s a yell-a-thon for another time.

The loss of Rastakhan was definitely unfair. The whole Battle of Dazar’alor sequence was… actually let’s just forget about it. But having Rastakhan in the Horde would have been such a delight!!

And our boy rezan. Blizz did both characters dirty

Step further I think zandalar and kul tiras actually felt like zones blizzard wanted to write not the overarching main story but the story zones actually felt like they had breathing room to write the story and we’re not forced into demands that zandalari trolls or kul tirans have to be this way in their lore. It’s okay to listen to fans but honestly I would have my creative freedom exhausted having certain demands always being asked

Of course, the fact that in BFA you could either play as the Alliance, or you could play as a N@z! was itself a major writing failing.

In spite of what could be construed as ‘bad timing’ Genn’s instincts turned out to be on-point though. And Sylvanas was also putting her personal matters ahead of what was best for the Horde- though like many a deluded narcissist, she probably justified it as “Everyone else will eventually benefit, from what benefits me immediately!”

Rezan was cool… Honestly don’t know what all the hype over Rasta is.

He didn’t attack her because he suspected anything. He attacked her because he was going to, regardless of the situation. Which is the entire reason I posted the imgur.
And even if he had suspected it? The Horde is not a vassal state of the Alliance. The Alliance does not get to choose what Horde members live or die. It does not get to choose who can be Warchief. It does not get to choose to kill or capture the Warchief.

Those are acts of war, and the act of war could have killed Azeroth.
Thank christ that Sylvanas is smarter than Genn.

I don’t disagree there. War of Thorns was horrible story telling, and yet it was the foundation of all of BFA, and to some extend, Shadowlands, only set ever up for fail.

That is not really my point. My point is, in the context of the story, Saurfang’s role made sense. Not saying it was a good story, but it was true to his character.

You don’t have that meta knowledge.

I had this same problem with other races too by the way. I remember orc players being absolutely outraged about how orcs were written as blood thirsty savages without the demon blood I was too and still am however I see what they were trying to say that it wasn’t blood that made them who they are which is a good message but it was poorly executed in WOD

I don’t know, we only heard about Rastakhan for years now and when we get to BfA, blizz decided to kill him. Via jaina and Genn no less

Rastakhan was a long-hyped character within lore and was a huge boon character-wise for Horde leadership. To introduce him and then kill him as swiftly as they did was a really poor choice considering the Horde was already reeling from other lost leadership/main characters and even moreso now that Sylvanas and Saurfang are out of the picture. It was a let down for a lot of Troll (and Horde) fans.

They needed to build up talanji like they did with Rastakhan. The irony writes itself.

He was a weak King running an Empire that has been dying a slow death for more than 10,000 years, and couldn’t even hold his throne without Bartering his daughter off to some death God like some beast of burden.

Talanji is an improvement imo.

Talanji is MOP jaina how is that an improvement?

Compared to King Bad Haircut?

Need to explain your reason instead of silly retorts.

I already explained why I think Rasta hype is weird. And your retorts are just as silly.

??? Here is a silly retort.
