"""Ysera isn't Nelf content"""

Can you just stop beating around the bush and admit you irrationally hate a playable race that has been consistently dealt a raw deal in narrative and character development by a former CDev Lead that was a known abuser of women?

In fact why don’t you just friggin’ admit you hate them? Come on man, stop mincing words. Tell us how you really feel. About the matriarchal warrior women race that has been kicked around by talentless sex pests? Hmm?

Azshara questing is something people have been bringing up since the old word revamp came out, and something that people have painted fairly one sidedly ever since then. People always focus on Andorel Sunsworn’s quests against Lorekeeper Amberwind’s Apprentice Illuminators as if this is evidence that the Highborne that rejoined the Darnassian Night Elves are no longer skilled. But it’s mostly just evidence that new Night Elf Apprentices at that time were new at studying magic. When would a teacher have novices use magic that was more advanced than their skill could handle? But more importantly, people also go out of their way to ignore the other quest in Azshara that shows a Blood Elf being worried about the Highborne returning to the Alliance Night Elves:

What? Give that here, this instant! Ag'tor is correct, these are arcane runes. They're scouting out magical sites? Experimenting with the arcane arts? This is a marked departure from thousands of years of night elven history.

Hmph! The idea that they will achieve any competence in this field - even those who once counted themselves among the highborne - is absurd.

<Malynea puts aside the scroll dismissively, but her face is furrowed with concern.>

Additionally, we indeed have now seen Andorel Sunsworn’s type of dismissive banter used against even the Nightborne during the Suramar Insurrection:

It is really child's play when you consider the magical weaves. I can see the flaws with just a few minutes of study.

Go teach that amateur spellslinger what it means to wage war against the sin'dorei!

When you pick up “Nullified” the quest giver even has additional broadcast text:

Magus Sendath says: All the "mastery of the arcane" at their disposal and they still were not prepared for a pyroblast to the face. I almost feel sorry for them. Almost.

However, we do not consider the Nightborne as being unskilled with magic. Likewise, the Azshara questing doesn’t really prove anything other than that Blood Elves have a culture that tends towards bluster, which we already knew.

I think “irrationally” is a judgement call at best. If there were truly no rationality behind his motivations, forming the coherent message to admit that would be unlikely.

I do not know if the OP hates Night Elves, he may just be stating his perspective. And if he does hate Night Elves, there may be some rationality. Maybe when he was a child, someone Cosplaying as a Night Elf stepped on his sand castle and shouted “for Elune!”

WoTA novelization had Tyrande/Illidan/Malfurion as relatively young/not experienced warriors.

Maybe if they stopped attacking anyone and everyone and trying to restore their lost “glory” and focus on trying to live with their neighbours in a more peaceful manner most people wouldn’t have such a negative view. Heck, we see it in the Exploring Northrend book that seem to show that Magni and co have a relatively amical relation with the Zandalari of Northrend.

I noticed you didn’t mention Thalyssra or her people. Or did you forget they were just as devout to Aszhara as anyone else before she went crazy?

Lowborn haven’t turned on Azshara by this point in history.

Chronicle states they were all young adults during the war of the ancients.
Even before the dragons, night elves were virtually immortal.
So, no.
You try again.

(Also, the entire nelf race)

I’ll read Chronicle 3 tomorrow and get back to this. Certainly doesn’t sync up with how we see the nelves laughing and having fun at the beginning of the Ashenvale story in WC3.

lol.

“and then she freely colonized the rest of the known world and it was okay and good because it isn’t genocide if night elves do it.”

No, it wasn’t. Nelves were on titan blood like orcs were on demon blood. They wouldn’t have made a quarter of the dent in the troll empire without the Well of Eternity.

The Trolls had specifically fought LEI-SHEN.

You bet it is.

I think the relevant passages have been quoted by Zahir and Amadeus at this point, so we’re all kind of speculating wildly beyond that.

Kaldorei history is really vague in the early parts. It is sort of

  • Azashara becomes Queen
  • ???
  • Elves Exist now

There is a huge gap where we do not know what was up. I imagine they will explore it in greater detail at some point.

I definitely would like to know who ruled before Azshara and how she became Queen. I just do not know why that would be relevant to any Gameplay. They would almost have to go out of their way to include that.

But I wonder… was she just next in line to the throne? Or did she take the throne through magic and manipulation? How was kaldorei royalty organized - there was at least one Prince (Farondis).

The time period between the first Dark Trolls finding the Well of Eternity and the moment Azshara becomes Queen is mysterious and a blank slate - but maybe a nascent kaldorei civilization is not very exciting or relevant to the present story telling.

If there was a Night Elf leader who was even more cruel than Azshara, and Azshara was beloved because Azshara was a nice lady and compassionate ruler in comparison to the old regime she over threw… that could be one way to go about it. Or, maybe she was just next in line to the throne.

Both. It was both.

That conjures quite the image in my mind.

As if they were passing around bags of their farts, and someone spiked the fart bags with like… whats worse than farts? Tear gas?

She came from an ancient line of nobles, so maybe she was simply next in line

Concratz,.you forgot to post part 1, the trolls were no longer a threat because the treaty with the zandalari were in place and this is litteraly part 1 of the same page. I post the full quote above.

And the funny part, you called me a liar ^^ treng you are litteraly a joke if you behave so dishonest

You mean where she enslaved the Zandalari and forced them to police other trolls who continued to fight the nelves?
That quote?

The Nelves continued colonizing the world until her people rose up against her. Which was the reason I posted that. It completely undoes everything you’ve lied about.

Zahir: “”“Small quick battles allowed night elves to conquer all of Azeroth.”“”
No.

That is not enslavement. They struck a deal, stop attacking us and stop your brethren from attacking us and we wont demolish you.

Super weird how every single thread has the same 3-4 people are just always like WHAT ABOUT THE TROLLS?

“I think that it was bad when Saurfang’s son died at the Wrathgate”

And here will come the same people to say how he deserved to die because somehow he is conplicit in some 7,000 year troll crime and Trolls have it worse.

Trolls.

Just because the lore is stupid doesn’t mean it’s not the lore.

In your own picture it even says Azshara herself wasn’t interested in conquest, let alone any of the “lowborn” you’re trying to pin things on, who didn’t even believe Azshara was an evil person until they got undeniable proof that she was and that it wasn’t just the Highborne corrupting her.

In my own screenshot, it states that she continued expanding her dominion.
But what is dominion, Mr. Amadis?

https://i.imgur.com/uAVF21S.jpg

So she expanded her lands and forced people to be in her empire, to leave, or to be buried.

And the only reason she quit caring about Trolls was because she had become obsessed with Titan Blood.

Yes, you can extrapolate from those vague lines to “bloodthirsty vicious conquest” and then get mad at your (not unreasonable) projection of what likely happened. Like Tyrande definitely working on her dunkshot with baby trolls.

But it’s so vague that you can also assume that there were like 3 skirmishes and then some very uneven treaties. And a lot in between.

You’re gonna have to be way more specific about when this takes place.
If you’re gonna pull a Zahir, I’m going to call it out. We saw the maps.
Three battles don’t conquer Pangea.
