Now that you mention it, it would be a fun minor game mechanic to have Midnight’s shared elf questing hubs be patrolled by blood elf guards during the day and night elf guards during the night. (Not places like Silvermoon or any night-elf-centric camp, but just the shared-theme ones.)
That would be a really cool touch.
I’ll always be disappointed though in how Night in World of Warcraft is just Day but with a blue-purple filter. I mean maybe it’s the fact that there’s two moons reflecting the sun down onto Azeroth at night.
Was there a Warlords of Draenor zone that had eternal night? That was like the only zone that ever did it right to me.
Shadowmoon Valley you’re thinking of. It was a really cool night zone in WoD
BFA darkshore is also in perma lunar eclipse mode.
I loved doing the warfront there.
Karma is a bish.
But you know Mediv is a funny guy.
When Gurubashi come to Stormwind to “party”, he comes and shuts down the lights.
But then he goes to Black Moras, opens a portal so orcs could do it instead.
It’s really not. Anyone with power can just roll in and erase whoever was there before.
That doesn’t make their land claims illegitimate.
It does actually. One can protest all they want, but unless they have power to back it up…
It’s just like the ICC issuing a warrant for Netanyahu. The US bluntly said, “You try to enforce that, we are gonna end you.”
You’re trying to be cynical, but I’m saying it’s legitimate morally, which no decent person would disagree with.
Decent people don’t last.
The Trolls will get their land back and the humans will be punished.
A quibble…
You are talking about being able to “enforce” claims.
“Legimate” is more “things they way they should be”. Its power is in whether you can convince people to support a claim…
I see it in similar light, you have support of minds or arms. Legitimacy is very much a perspective thing. You can be the rightful heir to one group, and an usurper to another.
“Morality” has no place in politics.
The Roman Empire did not become the most famous and influential civilization in history by being “moral”, for instance.
No one cares about your “morals” when it comes to politics and warfare.
But if you really feel so bad for the Trolls, keep in mind that Queen Azshara gracefully allowed the trolls to keep their lands and independence, instead of crushing them or making them a tributary state of the Kaldorei Empire.
and ultimatley their empire collapsed as their deserved it. Stormwind will too fall eventually and all the blood they spilled will come back to bite them hard.
Keep coping if it helps you get through life.
(It’s obviously never going to happen btw)
So should orcs be destroyed?
Wiping the peaceful draeneis, making a road paved with their bones, invading Azeroth twice, making their capital in Quillboar land.
Land claim is a very complex subject, is not as simple as might makes right nor whoever has the first dibs.
Orcs already lost everything and were reduced to just Durotar mind you. Draenor is gone and most of their people too. There won’t be any culture coming in soon.
Oh wait, does that thing you’re talking to support imperialism now?
